Tech- - DRIVE TRAIN / Shifting me softly....
« on: June 23, 2009, 04:03:43 PM »
Guys, my 300 decided all of a sudden that the 1-2 upshift would start feeling kind of mushy.  Doesn't slip, and the 2-3 upshift is fine.  Shifts when it's supposed to, just feels really soft doing it.  Down shifting into both second, and first is crisp and happens right now when I floor it.  My only complaint is that mushy 1-2 upshift.  Ideas anyone?

General Tech / Heater core

Hey guys, how much fun are heater cores to change in a '66 300 that does NOT have factory air?

General BS and Laughs / In case you were wondering where I've been.....
« on: December 26, 2008, 02:18:04 PM »
Well, for those of you wondering where I've been hiding (if you noticed I was gone in the first place), I am still around, as is my '66.  Been mostly busy with work, got something of a promotion, got a raise just this month, and got myself a new girlfriend.  I ended a several year engagement a few months back because of the distance involved, and the fact it would be 8 years before it could be resolved.  Now, for the past month I've been dating the most wonderful girl, Amy.
She's smart, very funny, warm, loving and a myriad of other wonderful things.  She maks me smile, and she's even 10 years younger than I.....  We spend hours talking about anythign and everything, and she really digs the 300!
As for everything else, my son is getting bigger, and well on his way to being a teenager.  He's eating his mom out of house and home, and still looks skinny.  Been driving the 300 more since gas became affordable, but the fact it on gets 10mpg doesn't thrill me....  Other than that, same old thing here boys.

Tech- - ELECTRICAL / Pulsating lights
« on: October 31, 2008, 11:13:59 AM »
Hey gang, I sometimes get pulsating headlights, if I have the heater blower on along with the headlights, or sometimes if I just have the headlights and brake lights lit.  I've upgraded everythign electrical I can think of as far as the bulkhead connector, battery, battery cables, solid state voltage regulator, and rebuilt 65 amp alternator.  I'm stumped.  What can I do to stop that nonsense?

Tech- - STEERING WHEELS AND SUSPENSION / Lookee what I got....
« on: October 01, 2008, 04:19:11 PM »
Well I had been on the fence for quite a while about what I was going to do for wheels on the 300.  I knew I had to go to 15's to accomodate the disc brake set up I'm planning on doing.  I thought about a set of Torq thrust, but the cost was over 600 for a set of those.  After all, I'm trying to do this on a shoestring budget.   I thought about cheap modular wheels, but those just didn't seem to belong on my car.  I came across a '66 New Yorker that had Budd brakes, and a set of 15" Chrysler disc brake hubcaps.  I liekd the look of those since they are period correct for my car.   While I like the looks of mag wheels, there something about them that makes me think "hot rod" and that's not the look I want for my 300.  I want somethign more in line with a "boulevard cruiser" look.  So, I got to wandering around E-bay, and scored these this evening:
What do you boys think?

General Tech / Dash Trim Panel Removal
« on: June 06, 2008, 06:37:35 PM »
Guys, how do you removed the dash trim panel that the heater controls and radio sit behind in the dash of a '66 300?

General Mopar Discussions / Yeah, it's got a Hemi.....
« on: June 01, 2008, 07:30:13 PM »
Went to an old car swap meet today, and about the only Chrysler related items were from one old fellow selling 5 or 6 Hemis of various sizes, including one Red Ram.  Stuck ones were for sale for 1200, and ones that ran were 1400 on up!

Tech- - DRIVE TRAIN / Tranny cooler lines
« on: May 24, 2008, 03:50:34 PM »
Well, I've somehow developed a leak in one of the tranny cooler lines that run to the radiator.  Didn't leak before I pulled the radiator, but it sure does now.  Any one have any spares, or reccomendations as to what else I can replace the line or lines with?  I have a cruise in 3 weeks, would be nice if the car could go..........
