General BS and Laughs / POST, people!!
« on: October 09, 2012, 03:15:56 PM »
Look at the dates of last response for various topics on the Forum...
where is everybody??  It's nice that AJ is continuing the site,
hopefully, but this place is moribund anyway, we're dying a slow-
motion death with the lack of participation.  Sorry to be the one
pointing out that the Emperor has no clothes, but it's true, just take
a look....

General Mopar Discussions / No NEW 'verts???
« on: August 03, 2012, 07:49:04 AM »
So the wife has decided that she wants a new convertible... must be a 2nd childhood-midlife crisis kinda thing I guess. She says  "I want a new Mustang convertible like the one we dated in!" (I had a 6 mos old '69  Stang 302 metallic champagne gold convert when we first met in Jan 1970). So I says: "how about  a Challenger?" .... then I go to there's NO Challenger 'verts!! ... I thought they were going to bring one out a few yrs ago...WTF... no Challenger convertibles! what are they thinking ???! I mean I like the new Mustangs, but....!

General Tech / stock Mopar wheel swap FL 14 -> 15?
« on: March 25, 2012, 06:56:40 AM »

Is there any stock steel Mopar 15" wheel that will directly swap for a '58 Mopar 14"er?

I think 14" wheels w/ 215/75/14s look too small on Winnie.

Plus 14" 225/75/14 ww tires are NLA.
But 225/75R15 would look just about right imo.

Advice please?

Even 225/75/15s are hard to find, so are there any choices for 225 or
215 in 14" 70 or 75 series any more? ( aside from expensive ones from
Coker and the like which are too $$$ for my budget)

General BS and Laughs / Spring?:
« on: March 03, 2012, 04:33:20 AM »

Hate to say it, for fear of jinxing things... like a 30" dump in
April... but by gosh it is feeling and looking almost Spring-Like
already:  buds on trees, 50 out today, all this after the mildest
winter in memory.  It's enough for those of us in the Tundra areas
of the NE to start thinking/dreaming about the upcoming car
season!  Anyone planning visits to Major Shows, any upcoming new
Old Car acquisitions, or plans for car upgrades, or car
storage renovation projects?

Have fun with family & old cars folks!

MEMBERS Project Cars in Progress / Squished pic...huh?
« on: February 02, 2012, 04:58:34 AM »
OK I tried to post a pic using Browse to download a pic from my
desktop... it appeared super squished in the horizontal dimension (side
to side), about 1/4 of the correct proportion... why? What to do?

MEMBERS Project Cars in Progress / This is a test:

OK lets test your ForwardLook knowledge... here's what I'm hoping will be safely in my garage

hey, why did this pic get squished...??

Hope it doesn't look like this when it gets here!!

at some point soon - weather &c permitting.  What model/year is it? The Spitfire 354 I mentioned in an Engine thread is a major giveaway:

Tech- - Engine / Poly 354s anyone?
« on: January 26, 2012, 11:34:14 AM »
I'm looking at a car with one, may need a rebuild. Anyone experienced
with polys, aka as the "semi-hemi"? I think I recall reading someplace
that parts can be on the pricey side and somewhat comparatively hard to
find... true?  Are there good sources or a book, other info? Any
particualr know issues with the poly engines in general? ... I kinda
like them 'cause they're different, you don't see them that often. And
no, I wouldn't yank  it for a 360, 440 or anything else...

MEMBERS Project Cars in Progress / '71 F3 headin' down the road :-(
« on: December 05, 2011, 05:04:42 AM »
Well it looks like my dark blue F3 over there <---- is SOLD.  I'll miss it, but not the electric window and wiring issues. It 's one super solid car, but no sense keeping it any longer, given that the '70 vert is almost identical and much more worth dumping money into... and that's what we all do with these  old Mopars, that's for sure!! The buyer is getting a good deal, and I'm getting some garage space back, but I'm already thinking about what will fill it, something old like from 1939-40 probably. Nature, and car lovers, abhor a vacuum!

General BS and Laughs / Sapphire meets Wanda!
« on: October 08, 2011, 03:48:37 PM »

Well the weather has been spectacular!  day upon day of crystal
blue skies and 70 degrees... a rarity around here for sure.
Dominic from Ithaca "arktflffy" took adavantage and came down for a
Moparfins visit in his show winning "Carlisle 2nd place" super spiffy
79 NYer Fifth Ave and we had a great mini- Moparfest and went
for a quick ride in a topless (such a slut) Sapphire!  Yet another
great example of the cameraderie that's made possible by this
great website!
Here's 2 girls that know how to have fun!!:

MEMBERS Project Cars in Progress / 71 Finally sorta done.
« on: September 17, 2011, 04:17:27 PM »

After 2 years.... Clara's almost sorta done. Amateur paint job, lotsa
flaws, but at  least she looks better than she did and is running
after 10 yrs of not so benign neglect. Still needs valve seals yet,
couple window switches fixed, new tires, new carpet. But I saved her
from a certain Derby fate. She has amazingly good floors and underside,d floors and underside, be a crying shame to crash her. So here's one still alive and kickin.
