Tech- - Engine / Looking for any info on the 400ci (74')
« on: June 17, 2009, 04:53:01 PM »
So i created a intro thread in the noob section and got some helpful answers.  i wanted to try and get some more info on some of those points and felt it more appropriate to start a thread in the technical section.  I have a 1974 Newport with the 400ci and the 2bbl Holley.  If anyone can offer any info, or links, i would greatly appreciate the help.  Any info would be great, really, i can't find much of anything online.  I also listed a few things below that i had some specific questions about, thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

  • oil capcity
  • links to info/parts for the Holley 2bbl or....
  • is there a common 4bbl swap? (someone mentioned it in my intro thread, any help would be awesome)
  • source for a good service manual
thanks in advance.

WELCOME NEW MEMBERS! / Noob here. First Mopar, going good so far...

Hey guys, been digging thru the forum and wanted to drop in and say hi.  I just picked up a 74 Newport (400) and have been searching for a good forum to get info, parts leads, ect.  so far, i've found tons of suppliers and great info.

this is my first mopar.  to be honest, it's my first non VW since i started driving 13+ years ago.  i had been searching for a creampuff for under $1500 and found this beauty and had to get it.  i'm the 2nd owner, not to sure on actual mileage (speedos have been swapped a few times) but the condition and records included with the car show it was well maintained and it has been a great car so far, starts everytime, a/c works great.  i plan to keep it pretty much original with maybe some suspension work to get lower.

any info or suggestions for other places/forums to check out would be great.

on with the pics...

what i was driving (02 passat wagon), gonna miss her...
