Great. love to see those pics Chris!
We may still consider AZ real estate if we get another bust of the housing bubble!

Those are fun trucks. a friend of my daughter's in Denver has a red '15 or '16 Raptor... talk about scoot!
Speaking of Scoot, anyone know what's up with Scotty? ...still have his green Newport 'vert?
I don't really know what's up over at C Bodies only or the Dry Dock as I rarely go there, no Mopars at present, though have considered a '57 Dodge Coronet recently, still livin' in the '50s.

Well the '58 has her original 371 Rocket, so she scoots pretty good already, and the Electra is part Olds too, an Olds 403 4 bbl, about as good as it got by '79, (which isn't saying much) but a comfy DD.... that said she may go away if the right 70/71 Fury pops up.

Glad to see Leaburn showed up, maybe Stitcherbob, AZblackhemi and others will see it ain't dead yet.

Well. another "recycled" member is here again...  since it changed couldn't get on and whenever I checked in, no action for months at a time.  Glad to see Leaburn's car may be here with pics!!  I talk to Lea on phone once in a while and he stopped in last year on the way to Carlisle, it's always good to see him!

So my last 2 Mopars, advertised on here in "For Sale" have been sold.  The one car I miss is my '71 Fury III and if the right one comes along woupld buy another.

Meanwhile I'm playing it comes: a '58 Olds and a '79 Electra ... "ducks and runs" :o

Hope you're OK Steve, we're all getting old,...70 is getting too close for comfort!!

Myself I've been getting rid of projects: sold 1 house, 3 cars, 2 boats, 4 vintage outboard motors and a few guns in the last year. Hopefully this will free up some time, as I still have much to do on the summer place and finishing the only old car I have left now,  a '58 Olds Super 88.  And the '79 Newport will finally be here soon, after waiting almost 4 months for transport from Denver.  It needs nothing and will be a daily driver in good weather, will post some pics when it arrives.
Glad the site will live on,as I've had some good help and met some good people over the years. Speaking of which, has anyone heard from our friend Lean-Burn lately?

There's prediction of mega-drought 30+ yrs for CA and some other areas of the SW, the story was carried on the major media outlets a couple weeks ago, I'm sure you can Google it.

Thing about Denver area is if it snows the next day it'll likely be 60 and snow will be gone... never seen a climate so schizophrenic.

Depends on the area of FL I guess, the northern  parts aren't so congested, more like the deep south/rednecky  than tropical.  I can't stand Winter Haven/Orlando, where my sis lives, or the SE coast, Miami etc, or Tampa St. Pete where the wife's sis lives, or Sarasota where my cousins live - all too crowded, or in some cases dumpy areas.  Venice and S of there where my folks lived isn't bad, but expensive and getting more built up, and hurricane exposed, as is most of the state.  Then again you can buy inland 10-15 miles and expect to have waterfront property in a few years!
Agree about Denver crowds, we visited first in '73 and '75 and it sure has changed for the worse. Climate's not bad, a lot of sun in winter, which we sure don't get in the NE, and places like Lyons way out from the city still aren't bad.  Daughter lives right in the city of Denver, which most young people like nowadays it seems, and her area has greatly gentrified last 10 yrs, I can't believe what little houses sell for around there, your talking close to half a Mil. and up. Not too bad 30-40 miles N of the city though.

With parents (originally from Mass),  sister (lived in MD then CA),  wife's sister (lived in  NH & IL), and cousins in FL since the early '80s to 90s, I've been there enough to know I'd never want to live there.  Visit for a couple weeks, yes, but no way buy a place and live there, it's cheap, but too many people (FL just passed NY in population with 19 million - second only to CA!)  and crazies and just weird stuff.  I'm thinking AZ or CO, the latter has winter but a lot of sunshine and warm breaks.

Spent the last week in Tampa/St.Pete, gorgeous and 75-80 the whole time on St Pete Beach... then got  home to NY and winter again... this has to end sometime!

Tech- - Engine / 1958 Plymouth starter question
« on: March 16, 2015, 04:56:52 AM »
That must be a 361 out of a later Mopar, the only V8s in '58 Plyms were 318 (V800) and 350 (Golden Commando). '59 was the first year for the 361 Golden Commando. Any 361 would be 12 volt.  All '56 and later Mopars were 12 volt. What starter should be on it depends on year the 361 is, but I didn't think they had the mini starter until later., not sure what year. If he still has the original big starter best option might be to rebuild it, there's still parts to do so and a few rebuilders around too if he doesn't want to DIY.
