For a 3.1 a new coil pack costs about the same as a new cap and rotor for a conventional dizzy.  There are three on that engine however.  Throw in a set of wires and yer looking at $120 for the werks.  You don't wanna' know what the ignition module costs...

too much. looked at the coolant today and it looked linda like sewage water. brown with crud everywhere. i wanna get a flush done but i don't want it to open up any leaks

as a reminder on those GM V6's they all all will
develope a coolant leak at the intake gasket. Not a very easy
job,but, something to look out for

Yea, I agree with the guys try to move the coil packs around plull the
plugs, and you should prob replace them and replace the wire. Def do
coolant flush, I have a set of new AC delco rapid fires my engine didnt
like. they have only been ran for aqll of 20 seconds after i noticed a
crappy idle. Let me know If I can help you out.
