Still Make a Trailer Hitch for a 68 Fury Wagon?
« on: April 26, 2008, 03:40:56 AM »

Does anyone make a trailer hitch for a 68 Fury wagon?  A friend just bought a travel trailer, and now he needs a hitch.

Will he have to find a vintage used one, or have one custom made?

Thanks!

Afraid not.  He'll have to have one fabricated.

However, one of the boys may know where there is a used one.  Hitches on these barges were quite common.

don't know about the 68, but my owner's manual for my 69 has details and measurements for making a hitch. If it is spelled out in the 68 manual, he can have it made.

Have you gone to your local U-Haul store?  They are very good at getting and installing hitches on "different" cars.  Also, depending on your shop, if they can't get you one they can make you one.  They did this for my '79 Cordoba and '84 Fifth Avenue.  The Cordoba was a Class III and the Fifth a Class II.

Worth a try!

I found in the back of my 1967 Chrysler owners manual detailed instructions and specs for a trailer hitch, and scanned it.  It is over 203K, so I can't upload it to here, but give me an email addy I can send it to for ya, then you can print it and take it to a U-haul to get something cobbled up for you.
