My hood won't stay open, can the two hood supports be replaced by me and where's the best place to buy them?     The two on our Escalade's rear hatch went out but I had them replaced at the dealer.   I understand the Chrysler hood supports just snap in.   Any thoughts?

NAPA and just about any other parts store either carries them or can get replacements within 48 hours or less, usually less.

Sometimes the factory stuff is better than AM.  You still pay twice what they are worth.

I did the trunk ones on the wifes 02 chrysler concorde not long ago.  Got them off ebay for cheap.  Installed perfectly in a few minutes.  I now have to do the hood as well.  Found that out when I was replacing the belts on the motor and the hood came crashing down on my head...good thing the hood didn't get damaged....

I hate those bloody cylinders, even worse are those crummy prop rods the Japanese foisted on us... give me those old springs and torsion bars Ma Mopar used up to the 80s!
