General Mopar Discussions / CHECK UR GAS STATIONS GUYS
« on: April 06, 2008, 04:21:37 PM »
I dont know if this more common up north or not but here in florida ive noticed that some of the cheaper gas stations are mixing gasoline with ethanol, up to 10 percent. Now from what i know of ethanol its very similar to alcohol. It takes two gallons of ethanol/alcohol to do the same work as one gallon of gas. I noticed a drop in the fuel economy in my truck and wasnt sure why, then one day i noticed a small sticker on the gas pump that the fuel i was buying could be mixed up to 10% of ethonal. Im pretty sure i know what happend to my milage now. Im not a big fan of ethanol (if you read up on it, its not as great for the environment as al gore says it is) last time i checked ethonal/alcohal is very corosive to rubber products, so if you have a non e-85 car what kinda damage will it do? maybe im wrong but if im gonna spend 3.29 per gallon of gas then i want it to be ALL gas.

General Mopar Discussions / Just scored a 68 newport convert WHOO HOO
« on: April 06, 2008, 04:02:12 PM »
I  just scored a 68 Newport convert as a parts car, some one robbed the 383 and trans out of it. Its in too bad of shape to save.  Im taking the power brakes, swaybar, bucket seats w/buddy seat, glass, and the power windows for the fury.  Im trading a set of 440 magnum exhaust manifolds for it. I should have it next week, in case anyone needs anything that im not gonna use.

General BS and Laughs / new to forum and just bought my first c body
« on: February 19, 2008, 04:15:03 PM »
hello all my name is shawn and i recently bought my first c-body, ive had loads of mopars from a mid 10 sec 360 w-2 headed duster, original 440 4spd challenger, 2 68 charger r/t's ect, but i have to say ive had more comments with this car then any of the others. and the kids and the wife love cruising in the florida weather with the top down ( my first convert). my 68 fury is a run of the mill 318 car, a/c p/c p/w but manuel brakes. i have a mild 360/904/3.55 suregrip im gonna put in it and a NOS kit just to surprise the guys at the strip. i plan on changing it over to disc brakes, i have two complete disc setups, one from a 73 fury and a set from 74 new yorker. which is better to use? the guy i got this car says itrs pretty rare, anyone know if its true? i see 67 fury converts all over but rarely a 68.
