General BS and Laughs / Quiting My Job and Going Out On My Own

Oh, I can understand having to do things for others you don't agree with, happens to the best of us. And you are right, as long as they pay, they can have what they want.

Steve, you promised you wouldn't pick things out for me!

Oops, forgot about the 429. The 1962 and earlier 390 was the better engine, guaranteed. Only thing I didn't like about it is the center exhaust ports are siamesed together. Otherwise, great engine. What seems to be the issue with your 429?

Panther Pink? Or just something real eye catching?

Back then the Cadillac was still the real luxury car, and being the price level they were, they usually were taken care of. Finding these giants is usually either something sitting in a garage for a decade or driven to and from the grocery store by a litttle old lady or man, well maintained, and babied. This beauty seems to be halfway in between, or at least up to the last couple years where someone bought it and started making it their daily driver. It should have the 390, a new design from the 331/365/390, this 390 I think is the one that turns into the 472/500, the largest factory cubic inch engine per pound out there. Nice car. A little interior cleaning and a lot of wax and you have a very sweet Caddy.

That's a good article. Last thing I would think of is sticking heat to a brass and steel combo, but a little bit at a time sounds like it works.

That pushbar looks like you are about ready to take another trip out to Chris's place! Much better prepared, right?

OMG, that is unbelievable! But hey, it's what the customer wants, right? Thought it was some kind of extra support brace for an IRS rear end or spring perch multi-bar setup. Hahaha.

What kind of rear end setup are they putting in the  Swinger? I see a bar bracket in the trunk over the housing area.

Nothing says Steve can't simply get all the pieces first, then do it later. She has a turbo, right? Hate to put a 4 cylinder in there and not have enough power. Gearing will be very important in this one.

I agree with you, I have just never seen one apart until now.  Until Jergen Schremmp got to Mercedes Benz and later fired Wolfgang Bernhard (sp) and sent him over to Volkswagen, German cars were far better than any others, not so true in the 90s. More complex and expensive does not equate to better all the time.
