General BS and Laughs / Merry Christmas
« on: December 25, 2017, 03:15:12 PM »
Hi Everybody, it has been pretty lonely around here, but just the same I know people are super busy all the time. I wanted to wish each and every one of you a Merry  Christmas, a time to reflect all the good in your lives and around you.

I still check daily for any movement or posts, but it has been quite a while since anyone has actually visited or commented. Hate to lose all this information gathered over the years, and really don't know what to say anymore. Have you considered taking any of the stories and putting them on your front page stories?

Hey Dave,
I do appreciate all the work on saving all this information. Not many show up, but I do check daily to make sure people know we are still available for comment. Again, thanks.

Kind of a hard thing to know for sure, but, there are ways to verify the information by checking things out yourself. Take a stiff wire, like a coat hanger or slightly heavier and bend a loop in one end to attach to a wheel stud, then bend the wire to the inside of the rim so you have the wheel angle and tire height, the other end of the loop would be the outside outermost edge of the tire tread. Put this on the stud and you can turn the wheels left and right and rotate the hub to make sure you have clearance inside the wheel well and not hit.
With that, if the rims are new and could be returned for an offset instead of adding spacers, it will keep the tire and rim within the fender edge, which would be a concern. Stock rims were either 5 or six inches to begin with, one extra inch shouldn't be too much of an issue, 2 inches might be tight, but hope this method of checking the clearance helps.

Well glad to see a few people on occasion stop by here to visit my daily check to see if others are showing up. Chris, any new pictures of your fantastic paint jobs? Always a pleasure to look at quality work.

Yeah, sorry to say I don't get much response from you guys over here, but I do check every day just to make sure whoever posts gets some kind of response. I haven't gotten to do anything with my list of cars, but I do have a friend that has (gasp) Fords, as in Lightning trucks, and I just got done helping him build one as a clone, an F-150 with all the Lightning components (a two year buying spree of his), and since the engine had to be torn down because of a broken timing chain rail that bent 4 valves, I got to port the heads. Needless to say, of the four supercharged Lightnings he owns, the new one is the fastest one, by a LOT (hard to imagine with a blower, but it's all in the flow). Needless to say, glad to see someone visiting me here, yell at the guys and have them visit, too.

Yeah, well, they ain't Mopars, but "old" is good, so I can live with it. What's on the agenda for these two? I would think a nice 383 under the hood of a '58 Olds would make her scoot pretty good, and Buicks, although a little new, do have a comfortable ride, so good for you, and thanks for showing up, love the company!

Yes, it would be nice to see more visitors and members show up. This is the first time since the site was saved that I have seen two posts in one day, so thanks for stopping by and giving extra words of encouragement!

I check daily to see if anyone has anything to say or show, let them know they aren't alone. Keep up the charge, we are still around.

Nice. Yeah, cars from Arizona and Southern California are the best. My 95 Dakota has no rust issues at all, not even any surface rust. No crusty bolts underneath, no snapped bolts, hell, even have the original paint on the floorboards still, can't beat the metal quality to start with. a 451 stroker, huh? Nice. Well, welcome back, hope we can get more people visiting, catch up the last couple years actually.

Beautiful car, glad you could share with us. Always loved those big blocks and low rpm highway cruising speeds, and gotta love it more with the top down. Welcome back, keep posting.

Hi Chris, welcome to the forum. Kind of quiet around here, this site is now run by You may want to also join there for free, a lot more guys are familiar with this kind of stuff over there, with a much larger audience. There is a lot of good information and projects on here, that's for sure, and to add to the collection and see if anyone is interested or knows more about selling prices for such, you can post pictures to see what you have and the condition.
