General Tech- - BRAKES / 69 Fury drum to disc conversion
« on: August 29, 2008, 08:33:46 AM »
I never considered swapping my power drums for discs until I just acquired a 77 New Yawker...  I know this has been covered and asked and answered before, but some men ya caint reach....   Will the 77 disc set up transfer to my 69? Spindles, booster and all?
While I got yer attention, what about the steering box? Will it swap over?

General BS and Laughs / Carlisle
« on: July 08, 2008, 05:27:14 PM »
Hey all...  been busy with life and vacation so I have not been poking around here much lately.... At any rate, My wife and kids and I will be staying at Western Village campground on the west edge of Carlisle in our 5th wheel. My best friend and his wife are following me there in my Fury. He and I will be at the event for all 3 days. The campground is only 10 minutes from the fairgrounds and only 40 bucks a night.  I figure if he can bring it to me in Ohio for the Nats last year, he should be more than comfortable driving it to Carlisle.   Hope to see some of you at the show....

Tech- - STEERING WHEELS AND SUSPENSION / 2007 Charger wheels...
« on: May 09, 2008, 04:23:50 PM »
I have an oppurtunity to pick up a set of factory aluminum wheels with the tires from a 2007 Charger for a whopping $150. They only have about 5k miles on them. Thinking about putting them on the Wanna-Bee, or maybe the Shelby since the originals need refurbished. I have not test fit them yet. I have heard both sides of the "they will fit/they will not fit " argument locally. Has anyone on here done this wheel swap, or know of someone that has. Will they fit the older MoPars?

I am overrun with chipmunks. They are undermining my front porch, driveway and basement steps.... Mouse/rat poison seems to have no affect. Any suggestions?  reasonable ones, that is.....

Tech- - Engine / oil pressure drop when making a hard stop
« on: April 19, 2008, 08:36:09 AM »
My buddy (yes I have one, so don't go there Steve...)  has a 2002 Ram with the 360. He has 74k miles on it and has always used Mobil-1 oil. He tells me last night when he and his wife came over to see the baby, that if he makes a hard stop, his oil pressure guage drops to ZERO and the "check guages light" lights on the dash. After about a 1-1/2 seconds, it comes back up to norlam. It is full of oil and does not do it under old-lady type of braking. I am thinking the oil pump is getting weak, and/or the shaft that drives it is rounding off on the end......  Y'all's thoughts please......

General BS and Laughs / Newest member of my Mopar family!

As per the doc's sched, we would have a c-section birth today at about the time I am typing this. As the Lord has his own ideas, her water broke last night and the new one was removed from her at 10:37 pm.  All went well. All are doing great.  Joshua Michael is 7 lbs 10.9 oz and 20 inches. So he came 12 hours earlier than planned, is 5 oz heavier and 1 inch longer than Jacob was 11.5 yrs ago....  Different hair color and eye color, too!
hmmmm... since Jacob is getting the Shelby 'kota in a few years, I guess Joshua will get the D'ango...  as if 11 yrs apart isn't crazy  enough, I am handing a limited production truck to son #1 and planning on handing a 5.9 Durango to son #2.....
Well, it is shower time for the big brother so we can get back to the hospital and see Mommy and the newbie.....

General Tech / air cleaner height
« on: April 01, 2008, 12:37:14 PM »
Unrelated to my Fury, I am building a 69 Wanna Bee.  I have the entire ramcharger set up from a 383 car. I am installing a 440. I know the 440 is taller and the 383 air cleaner base will not allow the hood close. So the question is.... Since I have a fabricator on reserve down in NC where he is hanging my 1/4s and rebuilding the rear window channel..... How tall/short should the air horn be to allow the system to mate up properly with the 440 as opposed to a 383 ??  Not wanting to pay for the 440 base IF i can find one, we are going to shorten the air horn on the base from the 383 set up.
