MEMBERS Project Cars in Progress / Barge on Budget 2014 Bit of a lull.

My '66 NYer had the stainless Trico's with the concave foil added to the leading edge of the wiper's frame.  They were designed to catch the wind and press the wiper firmly against the glass.  Those saw many a refill over the years that I owned that car...

Poor ol' Shemp misses you two!  Now he's forced to curl-up with the cat...  and that would be sorta like me sleeping next to a cheeseburger!

OH!  By the way...  that methane glaze that made Shemp's coat so soft and shiney when you were here P, is wearing off

Those are GP40-2s in your pic Bob.  I forgot to write down the road No.'s of the 70's.  It was in the single-digits and my camera was not liking it one bit, hence the fuzziness. MoparMatt2009-01-19 17:45:41

Warm beer?  But....it's COLD OUTSIDE?!

For our nine months of winter that system works rather well.  However it's the three months of un-winter where this UPS may come in handy.

Our fearless leader shipped this power backup thingy out to me with the guys.  None of us really knew what to do with it until we put our heads together.

What's the worst possible scenario in the event of a power outage?

Mobby and Potatoe arrived here early Friday afternoon safe and sound, and were they in for a culture shock!  Mobby was especially intrigued by this quaint little community that rolls-up it's sidewalks at 5 every day excluding Sunday when they stay rolled-up.

Their visit was also blessed by Mother Nature.  Friday's high temp was a thermometer-bustin' 6-degrees and we were plastered with snow all day Sunday which forced the guys to stay another night!  (Which actually worked-out well because that gave Mobby more time to eradicate the sheet of fudge that was in the fridge!)

On Saturday I gave them the nickel tour and we visited several locations in and around Altoona.  The highlight was at the expense of Siss' son Shelby though.  We had lunch at Hooters and he didn't know whether to shiite or go blind!

We all had a great time!  Good eats, plenty O' beer and wine, and the best of company!  Yoos two need to come back when the weather is more agreeable.

The Norfolk and Western was a coal hauler, but iron ore was also a big commodity.  I'd be willing to bet that there was a little home-distilled shine exchanged at station stops too
Nice S2 6-8-6 PRR turbine P.  It was the only one ever built, except the Lionel examples...

I did a little research last night and found that locomotive to be the AT&SF 5017 which is a Baldwin-built.  The Santa Fe had 37 examples of this class, with the 5017 being on display at the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay sans it's jacketing.

My pooter came with JAVA, or at least that's what I was told...

I pour water into the CD/ROM and stuff the loaded filter into the floppy, but when I push the button no JAVA dispenses

just a crackling sound and a little smoke...
