Tech- -BODY / Mud in my Tars
« on: August 11, 2008, 10:33:06 AM »
Couldn't resist that.  My Cousin Vinnie. . .
I find the front frame is packed with dirt on the VOAB.  Since the frame has caps on the ends, how can I get it out?
I was thinking of drilling a drain hole in the bottom, then flushing the crap out of it with the hose.  Just let it flow through the frame.
Any better ideas?

General BS and Laughs / Found this in Canuke Land. Not Mopar
« on: August 07, 2008, 03:51:31 PM »
This was the only classic I saw close of.
I did see 2- 66 Imps being prepared for a derby, one was a two door. . .Cried.  And I found a 67 or 8 in someones back yard.  It's been there a couple of years now.  It looks solid from a 100 feet, but missing the front wheels.  Maybe I can grab it for parts and the motor and trans next year
Anyway  this is a Canadian Nova.  It was pretty solid with rust just starting to blossom on the RR door and over the head lights.  Had 80,000 Kilometers on it

General BS and Laughs / August 26 Tuesday FUN STARTS ON PAGE 16
« on: August 07, 2008, 04:18:45 AM »
OK  Boys and Girls.
This is how things are shaping up.
On Tuesday the 26th,
MATT, Siss, Leanburn, Gerri, Mobby, Potatoe, Big Mike (Mike and P if they can get off from work, otherwise later)  Bob, Mopar331 (Pete) and his wife, Elaine and myself will all be converging at my house and meeting.
Bergers, salads, beer, soda. . . .
Entertainment provided by Leaburn and I as we will be fixing Mobbys car once and for all.  (Amazing what a 5 dollar fuel filter can do)  He's getting a rear axle seal, connecting his choke and putting in a distributor.
Anyone else who wants to come and will be here, speak now.  Unfortunately, all the beds, and a few more spaces have been spoken for at my house.  But you are all welcome to come and meet the mob.  You New Englanders and New Yawka's can come. . . You'll be going back after the rush.
Anyone and all are invited. . .  I might even let Snotty come!  LOL  (Wish you could man)
I am going to tell you we will be having a treat.  Mobby is buying the beer.
(Disclaimer) Speaking of beer, I am informing all who attend, NOBODY will be driving with too much in them.  I will take you to a motel (U Pay too).  There will be no drinking and driving.  Sorry, but I have to be tough on this one.  You will be my responsibility if something happens and neither of us want that.

Tech- - Engine / Which transmission will bolt up?
« on: July 28, 2008, 02:00:03 PM »
What transmissions will bolt up to a 5.7 Hemi?
With these new after market computers, I've been thinking about maybe putting a 5.7 into Polaraco.  If it will bolt to my 518, then it will be pretty easy to do.
The only thing is, I want the MDS system as well.  That would give me MPG and all the awsome power I could ask for.  I'm still convinced my HP vs. weight is still a bit light.

So I tell Dodge I want them to buy my truck back.  Alittle over 10,000 miles and a nightmare so far.   I was getting 11 around town and 14 on the highway.   My old truck got 16 around town and 21 on the highway.  New truck was advertised to get better economy.
2 weeks ago they told me to bring the truck in and get the ECM updated.  I was a flash behind.  So I did.
1.  Handheld (StarScan) dies in the middle of the flash and wipes out my ECM
2.  Batteries start going dead over night
3.  Batterys turned to stones and replaced.
4.  Truck dies in middle of the highway like it was turned off
5.  Batteries continue to go dead
6.  Take truck back and have a new ECM installed
7.  Engine Functions stop working correctly
8.  Check Engine light keeps coming on
9.  Truck Power is gone
10.  MPG is worse now than it was before
11.  New Truck won't be ready for 3 weeks
12.  I go on vacation next Thursday and was taking the truck

General Mopar Discussions / I got great news!
« on: July 16, 2008, 04:46:00 PM »
Next Wednesday I am going to the Bear Mt, NY. Cruise-in to meet Rich Eherenberg of Mopar Action and finally get Polaraco pics for the Magazine.
It gets better!  There will be an A, B and Polaraco (C), all with Magnums installed.  Savvy Savoy will be next to the Polaraco.  The A is another guy Rich knows who is having some troubles with it and Rich wants me to look at it with him.  I don't know if there are any E's local with a Magnum, but I am sure he will dig one up.
I think what he plans to do is line them all up together, shoot some shots, and then some of the cars by themselves.  There is supposed to be a write up done on all together and one at a time.  Rich said, Polaraco is the most sophisticated because it has A/C, Power Windows, and so on.  The other two are plain Janes.  The Savoy just had a Year 1 interior installed so this ought to be interesting putting a Stitcher Bob interior next to that. . .
Not only is Polaraco going to this show, but it is the first real road trip it has ever taken.  Once I get the front end aligned, Friday, she will be worthy of the task.  I can take that beast anywhere now.
All I need in the trunk is a spare tire cover, which we may have just enough material for.
Wooo Hoooo!

Sorry for the junk in there, but you get the idea.  I picked this up from the Master Craftsman Bob Reese yesterday.  I have some VOAB pics to do too.
On the right is a battery and the CD changer, which you can see.  The battery is under it behind the box.  Bob made it so the panel just pulls out.
On the left is the Bass Boost boom box.  I have to say the bass improved greatly since Bob mounted it.  You can't see the rear speakers but they are in Boxes of their own and these go around them.  He ran out of material but I am still getting a tire cover and a built in tool box along the back of the trunk behind the bumper.
