General BS and Laughs / Who's butt do I kick?

We got lucky!  we Dodge-d the bullet on this one, it was supposed to be 4-8" of wet snow but it mostly just rained then switched over very late when the cold came in, so we got just an inch of dry snow and a bit of sleet. Supposed to warm up for a couple days then back to 30s, a bit warmer highs of low 40s for the end of next week, so things are slowly gettin' better! Can't get warm soon enough for me. The wife will retire in 18 mos. so soon we got to decide where to spend winters.  Meantime tomorrow we're heading to Vt to see #1 son and family  - they got over a foot yesterday! It's been putting the kibosh on Maple Syrup season so far... sheesh!

Tech- -BODY / Gravel shields......
« on: March 04, 2014, 05:23:58 AM »
Ya I was confusing it with the other car, not all that many of 'em out there.

61s ALWAYS need headlight rings, they're so vulnerable.  So are '64 Dodges, I have one, and the repops are 300 freakin' dollars a pair!!  I think Adriana picked up like 10 of 'em for '61s all at once a few years ago... might be difficult to pry any loose though.

Welcome Will, think I've seen you at a certain site pertaining to forward look cars that cannot be mentioned here... wasn't that '61 vert up for sale/trade?  I had a '61 Belvy former undercover cop car that had the 361 high perfirmance engine, and love the '61s.  BTW if you need headlight rings you'll need to talk to Adriana in Australia, she's cornered the world supply of them! LOL   Please post pics here too!

Glad to hear that the SW might get some moisture... that's never a problem here, if anything the big worry is floods.  We had big ones in '06 and again with Lee in 2011. FEMA is just now buying out owners in flood zones, over 200 houses will be demolished and never rebuilt there again. The big BAE plant was also flooded, it's still owned by the Air Force and it will also be demolished, luckily they didn't leave, just moved a few miles to an old IBM plant 3 mi away. IBM started here, in Endicott, and once had 14,000, now down to 800.

Ya, more to come tomorrow nite... amount depending on the track, but looks like inland here in Bingo a few hunnert miles from the coast we won't get hammered too much, but NJ might ...yet again.  At least the longer forecast is for warming up somewhat middle of next week, I can't remember a straight month of super cold w/o any break like this for a long long time.

Maybe is CA, not AZ, that's going to dry up and blow away.

Well we're supposed to get 10-14" tonight... glad it's now, cause we're headin' to The City on Friday for our semi-annual dose of culture, staying at a cool new Midtown boutique hotel called Ink 48 - it's in an old printing plant 11th Ave at 48th Street.

Chris why don't you rip it out or let it die and plant rocks? that ain't NY, Xere-scaping makes sense in a desert. Watering 2 acres in AZ?

As the Swedes say, there's no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothes!

If I lived in AZ, my lawn would be rocks sand and cactus, I'd throw away the mower!
