Yes, a Commercial motor.  Ford also made a 383 - in Mercurys only.

I have no problem accepting that your Dad has vehicles from '85 with 440s in them.  What I will not accept is that they came that way from the factory.  What motor information is on the door or in the engine bay itself?  I'll bet it will say either 5.2 or 5.9.

we bought it that way... vin matched to motor codes. we no longer have the pickup as we traded it for a 1996 Chevy 3/4 ton.   not arguing, just stating what we had. if a 1985 B350 van had them, why not a D350 ram?

I see a lot of '74 E Bodies with 440s in them on eBay.  But I know for certain they did not leave the factory that way.  Even though it was still being made, the biggest motor a '74 E could come with was a 360.

is a 1985 D350 Ram 1 ton an E body?

well maybe it was added on and replaced the old engine. all i know when we bought it, it stated 440 engine and got parts for at napa for a 440 engine setup. i know most are usually 360s... but this was a 440.

i will probaby have a professional do my suspension after the wedding is done. Yes i do have a pressure washer. I just need to get this done and then go get a major wash done. i need to fix the heater on it to use the pressure washe to get the oil/grease off.

Tall the ones my dad owned such as 85 Dodge Ram 440 engine had Carters.

There was no '85 Ram 440.  Last year of the 440, except for holdovers in the Motorhome world, was '78.  Largest motor for a Ram in '85 was the 360, and it would have had a Carter, but it was a Thermoquad which was a spreadbore carb.

I stand correct. my dad owned a 1 ton 1985 Dodge D350 with a 440 engine. Even a 1985 B350 VAN has a 440.

That can be a problem.  That's why I didn's suggest it.  But of it's a low mileage car (I forget) then youhould be OK
