General Mopar Discussions / Body letter designations.
« on: September 22, 2011, 06:45:35 AM »
Greetings

ChryCorp registered the Imperial as a separate division in 1955, and it continued as such under the end of the 1968 model year. As noted above, it became the "Imperial by Chrysler " in 1969. Interesting as the body code, 'D' started in 1964 prior to generally used platform designations A, B, C, E etc in the 1965 on years.

Chrysler has never seemed to know what to do with Imperial. It has been treated like a bastard child.

Greetings

In no particular order;

We are having one of the best falls in recent memory. No sleet, no snow, no frost, not even temps below +5C. The leaves are yellow, but i've even got 90 miles on my vert this year ! ! !

Not that i'm elderly or anything but I am in my mid fifties. Soon, at our local Wednesday night gathering we will need a Geritol cart. One of the younger members, ( no age given to protect the innocent ) stated that he did not know that 300's were made back in the sixties . . .

I still try to keep a post or two on the old C body board. It's hard to believe that it goes back to 2001 or so.

Of course i've met Peter in real life back about 4 years ago. I think it was in Red Deer at the August Mopar meet with Bill.

Regards

Greetings

Kinda new from Yellowknife, NWT, Canada, Kinda. I'm on a couple of other Mopar sites also and know through postings there the moderator and a number of folks on this site.

I'm a long term Mopar C Body buff having started driving a 1965 Chrysler Windsor 2dr ht in 1974. The car is now sadly long gone. Sold after I bought my 1966 Chrysler 300 convertible,  in 1978, which I still own. I've bought and sold a few since then but still have my trusty slab side. I am in the architectural profession and have had the privilage of providing design services to our local Chrysler dealership which was a real pleasure.

I'll pitch in worthless information and colourfull stories as time moves on.

Regards
