Tech- - FUEL / Gas tank install
« on: December 13, 2011, 05:31:15 PM »

Going to install the gas tank this week, if the "Honey Do" list isn't to full! Is there something that goes between the tank and body and between the straps and the tank? Some sort of cushioning or insulation?
Well maybe not putting in the tank this week!   I see the sending unit has had some "modifications" done by the speed shop who butchered the frame of the car. It's got a huge, looks like 5/8 inch, fuel line coming out of it. Some place I can send this to get it repaired or buy a new one? Can you still find sending units or do I go salvage yard hunting and hope I get one that works!
well ive been thinking to install my gas tank too. thanks for the thread i get some ideas. :)

Tech- - DRIVE TRAIN / Rear suspension

Are you talking about "coil-over shocks" or swapping to coli springs on the rear?  If the former, I installed a set on my Newport.  They work, but I would rather have new leafs instead.  Can't budget the money at this time to do so.
As for coil springs, the Gremlin uses them on the front suspension.  Me no likey!  Honestly, I broke my little finger when one snapped the retainer I was using.  I don't like changing McPherson struts for the same reason, but I do them.
hi mate apology for this up but i just wanna ask if where did you bought your coil spring? i just looking for a cheaper price for that but i dont know where is a good store to buy. i was hoping for your help. thanks a lot.

Site Questions and Announcements / 2006 Non-Mopar Pickup for sale!
« on: November 22, 2011, 02:39:33 PM »

Sorry, not a Mopar, but a great bargain and in a hurry!
Anyone interested in a 2006 Ford F150 XLT Pickup?  It is my Mother-in-law's.  It is fully equipped, including bed-liner and Class III Hitches (never used), is an "Extra Cab," with only 4,700 miles.   You read that correctly!  She turned 86 this week and did not renew her Lisence.  If interested you have 'till this Tuesday (Jan. 19) to tell me.  $17,900.00.
Why Tuesday?  Because that's when we hear from Ford Motor Credit to see if they'll dismiss her debt and take it back.  I'd buy it if we had not purchased a car this past year.  It's almost new except for the fact it is four years old.
Call me if interested - 661-205-0790.

im interested with the parts specially to the hitches. can you give me that for a low price? any response is appreciated. thanks!

UPHOLSERY HOW TOO's / 68 Fury Dash Pad and Dash Bezel Questions

The Dash Pads on my 68 Sport Fury is pretty badly split/cracked. What are my options as far as repairs go?

Also, I would like to restore my dash bezel and repair some cracks in the process. Is this something too difficult for the average person?

Any tips will be deeply appreciated.

Thanks Guys!

General Tech / transmission cooler
« on: January 27, 2011, 07:19:51 PM »

apology for this up. I'm
looking for an aux filter solution for the transmission, so I won't have
to drop the pan and replace the factory filter. my car did away
with the drain plug on these transmissions and I'm done with balancing
piping hot trans pan on my hand, while removing 16 or so bolts. Fluid
replacement will be done via disconnected hose from the factory cooler.
basically I need a filter solution that will do all the filtering from
now on and is easily accessible/ replaceable. Price is somewhat of a
concern, but it has to be a high quality setup. I'm just a little worried about
the pressure drop with all these add-ons (automatic transmission filter and transmission cooler).

Tech- - ELECTRICAL / '69 Monaco w/ Electronic Ignition
« on: January 20, 2011, 09:56:40 PM »

Quote from: schaefman
Here's the next question regarding the '69 Monaco Wagon:

I have replaced the igniton parts, including Coil, Cap, Rotor, Wires, Plugs, Ignition Control Module, and Ballast Resistor. The reason being, it was getting sort of a miss, and since I just got the thing, I wanted to have all new anyway... so I know when it was done.
The car runs a ton better than it was, because one of the wires had, at some point, spent too much time near the manifold... this is good.

So the question part is... Does the electronic ignition still require the little capacitor that attaches to the coil, and is bolted to the ignition coil bracket?
I noticed that you can buy an Ignition Coil Capacitor from Rock Auto for a '69, but they didn't have electronic ignition. So I looked at later models, like a '75 Charger, and they don't list that capacitor. Summit Racing doesn't seem to list it at all. This would ordinarily tell me that I don't need it, but I don't want to assume...
The wire is a little brittle on it, and I had to strip it and reconnect it, so if I still need it, I will order one for the '69 from Rock Auto, unless there is a different one I need, and someone can tell me where to get it.
Thanks, as always...
hi mate how do you replace your ignition parts? you didn't bring it to the shop? i'm scared replacing mine.hehe. how much did you spend for your ignition? i got my wagon and need an ignition also my friend is looking for ford f150 ignition coil. does the store have those? thanks for any help mate. summerscheifer2011-01-22 02:01:07
