Tech- - Engine / Spin-on oil filter retrofit?
« on: April 19, 2012, 10:03:10 PM »

57 Plymouth 301 v8...changed oil and it took me a 1/2 hour to get the new oil filters/canister back up in there properly...The biggest problem was making sure the top (large) gasket was in it's seat properly...What a pain in the backside? For the next oil change I want to have a spin-on oil filter retrofit handy...Has anyone ever done this on a poly motor?...Where did you get it? And what type of spin-on filter does it require?
Thanks, Bob
hi mate ive been trying to change my oil filter but i was just wondering where is it located. please help. thanks a lot.

Tech- - Engine / Radiator Questions

As part of my ongoing restoration I want to replace or recore my radiator. Is there any advantage to going with aluminum? Copper deteriorates after a while but aluminum doesn't. The cost is about the same for a new aluminum and a recore. If I go with the aluminum is there a cooling advantage to go with a 3 core instead of 2?
hi. having trouble with my radiator :( i want to replace it but im scared i dont know how to do it. hope you could help me.

You will have to pull the cables from the vents, remove the nuts from behind the dash covers and pull them out from the front of the cover.

thanks for the tips. this thread really helps a lot. Even though it's old, it's nice to bring up occasionally, specially if it helps some people.

Last night John and I decided it was time to try to open my seized rear passenger door pin inserts....oh boy   After removing the door hinges and a little muscle later, she came off.  Boy was the mechanism dirty!  So we cleaned it and bolted it back on...then tried it out.  Things went good for the first two shuts but on the third one she seized back up   Apparently the star gear has a bad would I go about getting a new one?  68 Fury III Sedan
is it okay to clean the door hinges even if its already installed? i just bought the hinges and the door pin inserts but the pin inserts not worked.

I didn't have that problem with the repros I got
Blame it on the rising price of Molson.  Lea had to cut a corner somewhere to maintain his "budget" status.  "BUUUUURP".....
Seriously, I only ever had to replace one door handles on a C.  I bought it from the Chrysler dealer as my used ones were just as sloppy and I didn't trust them.  I floored the partz guy when I simply gave him the OE part number to order the handle.  $15 and 24-hours later the LF door of my Polara was as good as new!  (aaand I didn't have to enter the car through the passenger door)  The same door handle fit a '92 Dodge truck!
hi there  just want to ask for a help of removing the door handles. and thanks for the tip on where to order one. :)
