General Mopar Discussions / Whatcha think??
« on: February 16, 2009, 10:09:01 AM »
1937 Chrysler Royal. My son came across this stored at his girlfriend's grandmother's place and am thinking of offering.  He says it is immaculate. Any thoughts or any idea what she might be worth? I don't want to insult the guy.

While on my holiday trip I stopped in for a little bit of fun outside of Amarillo, TX today.

Probably for only a few hours before it will be revised.

UPHOLSERY HOW TOO's / It's not really upholstery, but......

Has any one ever removed or repaired the textured coating from the back of the metal seatbacks on a 65 Chrysler, and if so - how?  I have some scratches and gouges on mine, and am trying to find a way to repair them. Stitcher, any ideas? Think of the backs in Big Red.

Saw a news article today that said for the first time in 40 years Chrysler is going to build at least 100 dragsters to NHRA specs based on the new Challenger. Slightly shortened wheelbase, 1000 pounds lighter and have a choice of 5.7 hemi, 6.1 hemi, or 5.9 wedge. The buyer will also have a choice of auto or manual trans. Who's first in line???

This was an all makes put on by one of the restoration shops. About 100 cars showed up on this 100 degree day. Few Mopars and even fewer Cs. Here's a few pics. Special note to Leaburn  - you know you want the 68, don't even try to deny it.

The body and paint work on this car is flawless, but then what do you expect for 50K

And one for Stitcher except it's a 4door

And in the immortal words of the Head Kahoona  "Damned kids!!!!"

After  waiting since I dropped them off at SMS last October, they are finally here.
I am changing the interior from Black/Gold to White, and will be painting all the interior surfaces the new exterior colour - most likely code AVE Daytona orange. I am still undecide as to whether I will try to get a good set of insert/emblems for the doors or just leave them as is, since it is not going to be an original interior anyway. Got some shiny new repro armrest bases too!

After: (I know it's not a Sticher job but....)

Now I just have to get all this stuff out of the spare bedroom:

Has anyone  had any experience with the Remco pump kit? I'm thinking of using one so I can tow my PT behind the motorhome with 4 wheels down.

What would be better to use to get the rad support? I'd guess it has been sitting in one spot for a year or two
