Just be careful.
Feedback (boomerang5):
-DEADBEAT BIDDER WON AUCTION NEVER PAID FOR ITEM. SELLERS BEWARE!!!!
-SLOW,SLOW,SLOW!! Took 45 days to get item, then only after I annoyed him enough
-After almost 40 days, still haven't received payment. Lost Patience!
-postal money order sent, said never recieved, doubtful, not sending another
-Was high bidder, met reserve, then backed out. No further dealings
-Made HIS OWN OFFER ( in person), then refused it, WASTE OF TIME! sorry Mack

We all have stealership stories that make your sphyncter tighten up.
Here's (one of) mine:

Buying a new car for my wife.
Said I would pay X dollars.  After negotiations failed, went home.
Salesman called, said OK to my last offer.
Went back.  Did all the paper work.  When it came to sign, price was much higher.  Walked out.
Went to Dealer B.  Told him that a certain car was at Dealer A.  Would pay X dollars.  He got car from Dealer A.  I paid X dollars.
Drove new car to Dealer A.  Got Sales Manager.  Showed him car and said $%#@ YOU!

I quote directly form the ebay ad:

WHAT IS REALLY CLASSIC ABOUT THIS CAR IS THE ENGINOUTY OF THE DORR WINDOW'S DESIGN , THERE IS NO DIVIDER BETWEEN THE FRONT AND BACK WINDOW AND ANOTHER FEATURE IS THE TURNING SIGNAL LIGHT ON THE TOP IN FRONT OF THE CAR ,AN ORANGE LIGHT SHOWS YOU WHEN SIGNALING TO GO L OR R . IT IS ORIGINAL IDEAS TO A LUXURY SEDAN FROM THE 70'S MADE ME BUY THIS CAR IN A HEART BEAT.

General Tech / A/C Retrofit question

I recharged the stock R12 A/C system in my 70 sport fury when I had it.  But I went the el cheap'o route.  I used a product called Freeze 12....
WELL! Guess what I found at Wallyworld today.
Walmart sells an R12 replacement system using 134A just like Feeze 12. The system they sell is made by EZ Chill.

The more I read, the more I'm convinced the costly conversions are a  crock of $#!&.

General Tech / A/C Retrofit question
« on: April 17, 2008, 06:44:32 AM »
VERY timely.  I'm going through the hassles of converting the NYB as we speak and I've been running into a lot of dead ends.

I went to the first link and this was mentioned:

" Change the A/C system pressure & timing settings to accommodate the new R134a gas "

Now, what little I know about A/C, that part REALLY confuses me.  Is there any more info concerning that anywhere?

I'd rather have my cajones squeezed in a vise while someone drilled all my teeth without novacaine rather than walk into a showroom wanting to buy a car...

I guess there's no servicing it on that lift. . .

WRONG, Head Kahuna.

That 1 1/2" clearance, fore and aft, is all I need for the NYB to go up and down.
And, thank goodness for that.  WHEW!!

Yep that's the bay in my garage the NYB docks into.
And that's the bay with the lift!!

I have vowed that if i ever have a few too many, I'm parking it OUTSIDE for the night.
