Flying in to Stewert Airport in Newburgh on Friday.  Going to visit my family. We'll be staying in Pleasant Valley near my sisters farm in Stamfordville Ny. The nearest big town is Poughkeepsie. Anyone anywhere near there?

49  Took a road trip up to Flagstaff today and picked up this.  Runs and drives but needs rewiring. 54 year old cloth insulation is scary. Every bit of the chrome (which is alot) is almost show quality. All the glass is good and the interior is much better than most Arizona cars. Now I just have to figure out how to make time for another project.

General Mopar Discussions / Hey Stan, I Bought a Formal Today!
« on: April 01, 2009, 05:56:07 PM »
A Mopar buddy of mine is moving to Tucson and needed to get rid of some cars so I helped him out today. I bought a 77 New Yorker 4dr ht. Rebuilt 440, cold A/C, everything works including the power antenna and clock. He just rebuilt the motor and has only put about 25 miles on it. Needs an accelerator pump to run great but that's about all it needs. Interior is brown leather in good shape. Exterior is white. It has a little rust way down under the rear quarters but you have to get way under it to see it. I pick it up tommorrow and will get some pictures then.

I don't know what it is about me and snakes but I caught another one today. It's a Red Racer. Found it in my front planter. Let him go in my back pasture. I hope he feasts on the many Gophers that live back there.

General BS and Laughs / The County Thinks I have Too Many Cars!
« on: March 15, 2009, 06:01:26 PM »
A couple of weeks ago the County Inspector tagged my property with a violation notice for having too many inoperable vehicles.  I have to agree that I did let it get a little out of hand. Besides my 18 C bodies in various states of disrepair my son had 4 Ricer's that he was parting out. Well this is what I did about it. No I didn't get rid of my cars, I put up a block fence. I hope this satisfies them. I have to admit it does make my yard look alot better and now i can do what I want and nobody has to know what I'm doing. What do you guys think?   Pics to follow.

General BS and Laughs / Wasn't gonna go to Barrett Jackson but:
« on: January 13, 2009, 05:24:40 PM »
Wasn't planning on doing B-J this year but my wife got 2 free passes for Thursday. She works for Cox Communications and their production department is doing some filming so they scored some freebies. I'm not real crazy about the whole Barrett Jackson hoopla but it is a great car show. It's also a great people watchimg event. I'll bring my camera and get some shots of any cool Mopars. azblackhemi2009-01-13 22:25:15

General Mopar Discussions / Bought me a 70 GTX
« on: January 12, 2009, 05:19:12 PM »
Yeah, I know it's not a "C" body. I've had this car in my shop for over 3 years doing all the body and paint. I've been trying to get the owner to get me the weatherstrip and other minor pieces for it so I can finish it up and get paid for it and get it out of my garage. Well it turns out he is having some serious financial trouble so to make a long story short I bought it cheap. It comes with a fresh 440 and 727. It's got an air grabber hood and an awesome paint job if I do say so myself.  The things left to do are interior. probably a new wiring harness and bumper rechroming. It also needs a bunch of reassembly. Wasn't planned but I just couldn't pass up the deal. azblackhemi2009-01-12 22:21:24

General Mopar Discussions / I Hate Ecology Auto Parts!
« on: December 27, 2008, 12:20:51 PM »
Every time I go to Ecology they piss me off. Today I found a pretty complete 73 Polara Custom. Of course I grabbed the dicc brake set up. Well they charge for every little part so by the time they totaled it up it came to $219. They charged $24 in  core charges $6 enviormental fee, and of course tax. I wasn't real happy but paid I it. After I got it all loaded in the wheelbarrow to take it to the gate she says I'm sorry sir, I forgot to charge you for the calipers. That'll be another $36 each.  Well I came unglued and told her there is no way I'm paying $300 for a set of brakes that I had to pull myself. Just give me my money back I said. Well luckily she realized if I didn't take them they would just go in the scrap bin since they wouldn't have a clue what they came off of, so she let me take it for the original $219. The only reason I keep going back to them is they have all the good cars. There is another U pull it yard I used to like but Ecology bought it out too. OK rant over. If anyone needs 73 Polara parts let me know. It has a good grille, front bumper, hood, right front fender and misc trim and mouldings. The car is a rust free Az car. I'll be glad to get the parts and ship them for members here.  Hereis a pic of the disc set up.

General BS and Laughs / OK Who's going to Fall Fling?
« on: September 09, 2008, 04:58:45 PM »
Fall Fling in Van Nuys California Sat  Oct !8th. So far it looks like Me, Snotty and Mosey. Who else? I know there's not as many left coasters on this site as Joisy mobsters but lets see how good a showing we can have.  The CPW club always puts on a GREAT show every Spring and Fall. Lots of nice Mopars and a very good swap meet. Usually a pretty good showing of "C" Bodies too.
