Tech- - DRIVE TRAIN / Trans Issue or is This Common
« on: June 02, 2012, 05:42:49 AM »

I hadn't driven my '65 300 (original 727 trans, rebuilt with 3,000 miles on it) in a couple weeks and got it out yesterday to head out to a local cruise night.  I started the car and let it idle in Park for a while so it could warm up.  When I put it in Drive it barely wanted to move and I could hear a very, very faint whining noise.  I put it into Neutral, gave it a few revs, put it back in Drive and drove off.  Trans shifted fine after that with no noise at all.  It's always made a slight whine in Reverse but from what I've read this is fairly common.  Anyone have any input?

You cannot dispute Bob and the car deserve that and more.  He did a wonderful job.   I wish I had a suitable place to do that in.  The Diamond would be a whole lot different

Mostly all of the resto was done outside.  Good thing we don't have those Joisey winters!

Congrats Scott. I drooled all over this car at Spring Fling. Will I get to edo it again for Fall Fling Scott?

I'm still on the fence Chris.  I'll probably make up my mind a couple weeks before.
