If there's no decent electricity or CNG in your garage for a big heater, try a diesel heater. Those work nicely.

Although, below a certain point, even if the air gets warm enough, tools and parts are still too cold for to hold...

Indeed Steve!

Depending on brake performance goals, even larger rotors/calipers could be considered. That would require larger wheels, and that would improve handling as well.

Later Imperial-rotors are not sold new either.
I think it was the plan to go to 5*4.5" bolt pattern? Best bet is to adapt a Chrysler-rotor for the larger diameter bearings (or use some other OEM-rotor from e.g. Ford as these have 5*4.5 as well) and use a custom-made bracket for the caliper.

I don' think any factory-stuff will fit without engineering from your side.

Maybe AAJ-brakes has something? His system is based on OEM-parts, although it is my understanding that he uses the small 10 3/4" discs, which is nice if you have 14" wheels but pretty small on a heavy car like an Imperial. Although I have heard mixed reactions to his aftersales service and (lack of) communication. But since you are us-based, its probably easier to give him a call.

Actually you can't, there are several different wheel bolt patterns. 5*4.5" is most common and will fitt, but Imperials up to and including 66 had 5*5.5 and for 67-73 5*5" (this includes the fuselage-Imperials), and some A-bodies had 5*4".

And in order to make full-circle, in the past, Lancia had a few nice cars, like the Aurelia, sort of gt-car. Later on, Lancia was purchased by Fiat.

Don't forget cars like the Rover 3500 and Triumph 2500, those were fine cars for trans-continental trips, but for that purpose, of course nothing beats an Imperial or C-body. (or maybe a Bentley/Rolls but haven't had the luck to do a long trip in one of those...)

The difference between the brit sportscars, and the US-musclecars is easy to understand when yo look at the roads. US-roads are usually wide and straight, UK-roads twisty and narrow.
