Tech- - ELECTRICAL / Fuel gauge
« on: April 01, 2013, 05:06:31 PM »
it's not so much loose, as it seems to be drooping a bit. The straps are holding, but it's resting on the tow hitch. I'll try and get a pic of that one in a bit.
I did just go through and add the ground to the sending unit, as it wasn't grounded before. That's what got the gauge from nothing to quarter tank.

The temp gauge is electric. It used to work until I replaced the temp sensor. Need to try that one again.

I tried tapping the gauge and no change. The damn thing still is pretty stock for being 54 years old. Right now I think the main thing holding the tank in the car is the hitch. I'm looking at picking up a new tank and sending unit. Just to play it safe. If it doesn't work after that.....probably some hot rod gauges

Ok, so I have been woking on trying to get the fuel gauge in the Saratoga to work. I have been going through the tutorial on the main site. So far I have grounded the sending unit, which helped a little bit. The needle now goes up to 1/4 tank but then stops (car has a full tank).

I'm going to be checking the ground at the dash as well. Maybe I'll be able to get the dash lights working too! Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

I was just wondering if it has been discussed to do a mobile version of the forums? I'm usually on my phone or tablet more than I am on my computer, and a few of the other forums that I am on utilize tapatalk. It is a free deal for the forum. Just a thought.

It's the neck. I hadn't thought about getting it soldered. That would probably be. Cheaper.

Hey all! I was wondering if anybody had any tips on where to look for a power steering pump. Mine works, but there is a leak at the low pressure return. Thanks!!

Tech- - STEERING WHEELS AND SUSPENSION / Torsion bar adjustment
« on: March 26, 2012, 05:47:50 PM »
Awesome. Was easier than I thought it would be. The alignment will get done at a later date. I should probably rebuild the front end with bushings and parts that aren't 51 years old! LOL. After that, and before tires that cost more than the $40 each that I spent, I'll have the alignment done. Thanks for the help guys!!

Ok, so need a little advice. The drivers side of my toga is about an inch and a half lower than the passengers side. How hard is it to adjust the torsion bars to even this out? Is it pretty easy? Would I need any special tools or anything? Thanks!!

I was on the table for 3 hours. I really like how it's looking while healing. Once it's all healed up, i'll post another pic. Thanks for the comments!!!
