Good idea cause I couldn't think of any other place that would have them.

From what I have read the magnum to non-magnum is a true bolt on.. the other way around requires modifications to the oiling of the head.

If I was to use the early castings I would put on Magnum heads they are a bolt on. The best would be to find a roller motor from the late 80's and swap magnum heads onto it. Then I would be able to use a much more aggressive cam.

I would have to make a drivers side motor mount since I have the goofy 65 only K-member.. Not hard to do.. just takes time..

BTW.. I'm almost done my mower racer for this year. #43 with a retro Petty STP Charger paint scheme.. :D

Maybe it would be easier to get a megasquirt ECU to control the EFI and find a non computer control overdrive tranny...

I want to have a brand new driveshaft made.. the one I have looks too pitted to be shortened..

pm with a price.. I'll have to ask the boss.. LOL

The 361 gets 16.. and when it comes out it will probably end up in my step dad's 1970 Pickup...

I was gonna ask about cats. The computer looks for them... will I need to install them on the 65 for the computer to calculate the mixture right?

Ya.. but.... if they last in a Truck.. it should last in a cruising C-body. This is not a drag car.

I forgot about the bolt pattern change.. oops.... that won't work... :(

Tech- - ELECTRICAL / Headlamps cutting out
« on: April 30, 2012, 03:50:35 AM »
I know once I swapped out the breaker voltage regulator for an electronic one my high beams don't trip out the lights anymore. Before that I could only go about 10 minutes on high beams before the lights would cut out.

I have been talking with my mopar buddies and I think Eileen is gonna get a 360 magnum conversion with overdrive tranny. The wrecking yards are full of these and these truck rotted off the face of the planet so finding a donor shouldn't be that hard.

Now I have been also thinking about swapping the 8 3/4 for the truck rear too. That would get me the 3.55 gear. I haven't measured but it really can't be that far off since the 65 is pretty wide. I'm gonna measure the rear in my 98 and see how close we are. What is the measurement on the C-body 8 3/4?

I suppose I HAVE to use the truck computer in order to properly run the tranny right?

Any idea on a header to use.. maybe a Dakota shortie header?

Just ties the two frames together... usually done on High Powered Unibody drag cars to stop the car for twisting.

Does anyone here have frame connectors on their C... could someone snap a pic for me?

I remember when I put connectors in my Big Block Aspen it took out a lot of the creaks and moans... I thought maybe it is time for Eileen to get some connectors...
