General Tech- - BRAKES / 67 Newport Brake Booster
« on: November 27, 2008, 12:25:53 PM »
I want to replace my brake booster but I'm not sure how to tell what I have. It seems there are several choices. With or without bracket, and field or factory installed. I'm not sure what "bracket" they are referring to, and how can I tell if it was factory or field installed?
Any ideas?

As I understand it, Restoration Specialties sells most of the seals to the other suppliers, so if your buying from XYZ, it could very well be drop shipped from RS. That was my situation with some window whiskers that I bought. I originally ordered them from Bernbaum, but they were made wrong. Bernbaum, and several other suppliers that I called said they got them from RS. Bernbaum sent my defective ones to RS and he remade them correctly. It only took 2 1/2 months to get them back. Twice they told me they were already shipped when they weren't. He never returned my phone calls or emails. They're customer service skills s-ck, but  If you can be patient, they'll eventually take care of you. Thats my two cents. 67Newport2008-11-15 13:59:55

Tech- -BODY / Removing Trim
« on: November 09, 2008, 12:17:25 PM »
The headliner covers that area. I was hoping I wouldn't have to remove it to get at what is holding the trim.  Underneath the trim, ( you can see it in the picture) there is a screw that  attaches from the outside. I was hoping that the clips were attached to screws like that. There is also what looks like a piece of rope or under the screw that continues on I'm guessing, to the next screw and clip. Not sure what the purpose of it is, Seems to me like it would absorb water and rust the C post . Maybe someone has a body manual and they can see what is holding the trim on.

Hi Guys. I have some rust starting under the trim piece that runs between the rear window and the rear door. One clip is gone and I can lift up the end.  Ive tried gently prying and working a thin blade around under it but can't get the other clips to let go. How do I get this piece off , I don't want to bend it. Thanks
