General Mopar Discussions / Carlise '09
« on: June 27, 2009, 04:21:01 PM »
Well guys, not sure if anybody is going to Carlisle this year, but I am and hopefully somebody else is, so we can meet up.  If not, is anybody looking for anything specific....that isn't ridiculously expensive?  I'll keep an eye out and if it's not too much I'll pick it up for you.  Let me know what and how much you're willing to spend, if you aren't going.

Tech- - ELECTRICAL / Brake Light Switch
« on: May 25, 2009, 09:29:20 AM »
Yesterday P was trying to remove the brake light switch out of my '68 Fury and he couldn't seem to get it out (I'm too big to fit under there )  He said it didn't seem like there was a bolt holding it in.  If anybody has any feedback or advice for removing it, please let me/P know.

General Tech / Tires?
« on: April 22, 2009, 04:22:15 PM »
Well now that I got the Fury on the road, I need to look into getting new rubber for her.  I was just curious as to if there was a certain brand I should stay away from and what not...I'm not wanting to spend too much.  Also, how does everyone feel about whitewalls?  I'm open to ideas, but personally I was thinking just an all black tire...nothing fancy.

General Mopar Discussions / The Car Party That Wasn't
« on: November 02, 2008, 12:33:36 PM »
The 3 blind mice left for Hobby's house this morning, not quite on schedule...but close enough for government work

We hit 287, we were making good time and then....
MOBBY THREW HIS TIMING CHAIN! YAY!
So a quick phone call to Steve, who now had to unload a certain Duster   and come pick up a 5,000 lb paperweight.  The Mighty Dodge pulled the beached whale back to Wharton, where we all met Hemi John...who with Hobby, diagnosed the thrown chain.
So Mobby, doing what he does best, took us all for pizza.  We pulled the New Yorker towards home, which is now residing at P's house...  After a detour to show Hobby the progress on my Fury.  Hobby's charm and wit got him out of a speeding ticket.  Good times were had by all, except Mobby, who's hole is now almost to china

General Tech / TTI headers/exhaust
« on: October 26, 2008, 02:01:05 PM »
After browsing various sites for headers + exhaust systems, TTI seems to be the overall best for the headers.

http://www.ttiexhaust.com/Exhaust_Systems/2.5H.htm

2.5" should be plenty for a 318

They even have the Torque Shaft Assemblies for the driver's side header

http://www.ttiexhaust.com/CompParts/TSA.htm

Anybody have any other suggestions or ever used these guys?

Tech- - Engine / 360 Heads On A 318?
« on: October 25, 2008, 06:40:02 PM »
I know, I know, I don't even have the car running yet and I'm asking questions on what I can upgrade already   But it seems as though this is a good swap and I found a pair of 360 heads for $80 + shipping I figured I'd ask about it before I jumped in head first

General Tech / Weatherstrip
« on: October 21, 2008, 03:14:08 PM »

I was doing a little browsing online and I haven't found many websites with weatherstripping (specifically a trunk seal) and was wondering if I'm just not looking in the right place or what.  If anybody could shed some light on this subject please let me know.

Tech- -BODY / Door Help
« on: October 16, 2008, 02:50:07 PM »
Last night John and I decided it was time to try to open my seized rear passenger door....oh boy   After removing the door hinges and a little muscle later, she came off.  Boy was the mechanism dirty!  So we cleaned it and bolted it back on...then tried it out.  Things went good for the first two shuts but on the third one she seized back up   Apparently the star gear has a bad tooth...how would I go about getting a new one?  68 Fury III Sedan

« on: June 02, 2008, 02:41:50 PM »

Does $290 shipped for almost new headers and a Super Six 2 bbl intake for a /6 sound reasonable?  Any feedback would be nice, found somebody on another board selling and would like to give him an answer asap.  Thanks

Tech- - Engine / Carb/Engine
« on: May 09, 2008, 03:47:02 AM »
The other day Mobby and me were outside of my house takin a look at his car.  My neighbor happened to be outside at the time and suggested Mobby "take some tranny fluid and dump it down the carb" but he told us to make sure we did it behind a factory and only at night cause of the pollution it makes   Anybody ever heard of this?

...Not a damn thing
Remember how we were worried about frame rail rust?   Well it's there...
This is why I need new trunk flooring (notice the already done quarter panel patches):

Hello Driveway, Look at that frame rail

General Tech / Body Sheet Metal Question
« on: April 28, 2008, 02:14:39 PM »
Ok, so the more I search around for trunk floors, interior rear replacement floors, etc. I find that there a few online sites with most of what I need but at different prices.  Was curious to know if anybody has ordered replacement sheet metal from any online store and if so which?  I found replacement rocker panels for $72 for the set on one site and then $49.95 each on another....If anybody has any other suggestions please let me know, I'm open to just about any ideas thus far
