A lot of last year's cars were there, but here's some fresh ones

All nice cars, but the hit of the show appeared to be this beautifully restored 61 wagon:

General BS and Laughs / I'm Back...
« on: September 05, 2010, 06:50:47 PM »
been away for awhile.....work and looking for a new place to live have taken up all of my time.

After helping finish the interior of a Muntz Jet at the resto shop, we dove into the Pebble Beach cars....an original Pierce Arrow woody wagon with matching Pierce Travelodge trailer (car needed to be cleaned up, a new roof and side curtains), and a 34 Packard Dietrich V 12 convertible sedan (one of 5 known left). It was many hours and straight weeks before we got the Packard done (it started as an empty shell....we had to make EVERYTHING) but it won Best in Class (among 10 other Packards!).

Any time left was spent looking on the web for a new house. The folks want to move to Boston and I need a place with a workshop. Found a few possibles....will update when something happens.....

Any other time (usually late night after working at the resto shop ) was spent trying to keep the 91 Eldo on the road....I replaced P/S pump, A/C compressor, plugs and wires, exhaust, tires, and anything else that broke at the worst possible time in the last 10,000 miles I put on it.....

Oh yeah....after all the 24/ 7 work on the Packard was through, I got to put the timing chain in the Imperial....everything on the front of the motor is painted and back together....radiator repair is next. Sold the Valiant wagon at a loss this weekend because I can't take it in the move coming up. At least there's work in this lousy economy for the resto biz....and I'm taking whatever comes up

General BS and Laughs / Why me?
« on: April 13, 2010, 07:11:11 PM »

With all the cold and rain, it's been a struggle to get things done on my daily driver Cad-dy Eldo, but with the weather finally getting better and some free days, I got to do all 5 brake hoses, serpentine belt, power steering pump and a tune-up on the thing. Had to drill out  2 broken screws in the HEI distributor too (#@%^ GM!)
The next day my right leg hurt bad after all that kneeling under the rear of the car, but Advil allowed me to continue working on it. Fast forward to Monday and it was really bad. Couldn't walk at all. We had a aluminum cane so I used that to amble around.
Today I went to the doctor and he said it was either a Baker's cyst that popped in the knee and went into my leg muscles, or I had a life-threatening blood clot in there....

They sent me right away to a vascular Dr. for an ultrasound.....turns out no clot *whew*
But this is P$$ing  me off because I still can't walk or work and the Imperial sits, so close to being roadworthy....... and here comes the sun........

General Mopar Discussions / Saw One Of The New SRT8's Today...
« on: January 14, 2010, 06:27:02 PM »

There was a beautiful new Challenger in B5 Blue with no RT stripes at my local Dodge dealer today. I stopped and saw it was a limited edition SRT8 with the 425hp Hemi and a 6 speed manual trans. It had huge red brake calipers on it, polished wheels and a carbon-fiber look decal on the hood. It also had a $45K price tag and 16 city/22 highway mileage stickers on it...
