AZ Black Hemi doesn't have one for me.
 
I have found some tnaks, but need to know if I need to order with no vents, 2 vents or 4 vents?
What are the vents for?  Do they hook up to anything?  What if I don't order the right tank?

I need a new tank for my 68 Newport Convertible.  Where should I buy this?  I have seen some parts being sold with the questin of does it have a breather or not.

Its not just certain speeds, its related more to engine RPM and load.  I would guess between quarter and half throttle it resonates in the cabin at 1200 to 200 RPM (no tach to help me here).
 
Are there any tunable baffles or resonators that can be added?  It seems like if you can cancel out the standing wave that occurs, you can sell someone a muffler that wouldmake anyone happy.  You just sell its sound at WOT, right?

I just spoke with Dynomax.
 
They told me the drone or hum is coming from a flow problem at low RPM's.  They said that I should either try using a 2.5" pipe rather than the 2.25" that I used (right!) or move to a higher flowing muffler.  They recommended the Ultra Flow..  They said its louder outside, but I should see less cabin resonance.
 
I am going to ask my exhaust guy what he thinks today.  I might go with the Flowmaster or Magnaflow that I really have never had resonance issues with. 
 
I told them I bought this muffler due to the picture of the 68 300 Convertible on their web site, and asked them what that had installed.  They didn't know!  Strange.

Ok,
just installed two Dynomax Super Turbos, H pipe, and new exhaust back from the stock manifold down tube.
 
Sounds good when standing next to the car.
 
When driving at buolevard speeds, there is a really loud hum, almost like a straight six with open headers.  Once I gun it, or speed up alot more, it goes away.
 
HELP PLEASE!  It is an awful drone.  Could it be that the two lines are made exactly the same on both sides causing a standing wave inside the car.  This was with my top down too.  Any help is greatly appreciated.  I was going to contact Dynomax for help also.

I am not sure what you mean by makes it sound like a Chevy small block?  How should it sound differently?
 
Has anyone heard a dual 50 series Flowmaster or 40 series on a 383?
 
What about Magnaflows?

I am interested in what everyone thinks about the best sounding muffler for my 68 Newport Convertible.  I would like to stay with a single outlet as it has right now.  Its a g code 2bbl 383.

I would think that with the right parts, and normally aspirated, 500-600 HP would be easily attainable.  What those parts are, I am not too sure about.

If supercharging, does it make sense to go EFI?
 
What kind of power can I make without forced induction and keeping the engine at 440 ci?
 
I don't want to spend more than 5K on the buildup.  I will take my time doing it also.

Hello all, just heard about this site from Chris (azblackhemi) today, so I thought I would drop in.
azblackhemi is kind enough to sell me a 440 and 727 out of a 73 barge.  My question is simple.  I want to build this engine into a really strong and fast runner that is streetable and uses a reasonable octane fuel.
Some of my thoughts include fuel injection, perhaps forced induction.  I would love to get a real life plan to build this motor up and install in my 68 Newport.  Does anyone have a parts list or plan that has been used successfully in the past?  I love how the car looks, but am a fan of how new cars drive (tight, powerful, smooth).
Thanks for any help and advice.  A budget for your recommendation would be hepful too.  The motor hasn't been rebuilt, has a cast crank internally balanced.  Not looking to bore out to any huge displacement.
