General Tech / Chrysler A/C Tool C-3822
« on: August 05, 2012, 09:11:06 AM »
I will be replacing the EPR Valve in the compressor on my '65 300 soon.  In reading the FSM, it states the use of tool "C-3822" to R&R the EPR Valve.  Since I don't have said tool and cannot seem to find one online, what is my alternative to properly replace the part?

Tech- - DRIVE TRAIN / Trans Issue or is This Common
« on: June 02, 2012, 05:42:49 AM »

I hadn't driven my '65 300 (original 727 trans, rebuilt with 3,000 miles on it) in a couple weeks and got it out yesterday to head out to a local cruise night.  I started the car and let it idle in Park for a while so it could warm up.  When I put it in Drive it barely wanted to move and I could hear a very, very faint whining noise.  I put it into Neutral, gave it a few revs, put it back in Drive and drove off.  Trans shifted fine after that with no noise at all.  It's always made a slight whine in Reverse but from what I've read this is fairly common.  Anyone have any input?

Will the engine and trans (318/904) from a '79 LeBaron swap to a '66 Fury (original 318 car)?

General Tech / Muffler Recommendations '65 Chrysler
« on: November 06, 2010, 02:10:06 PM »
I converted the single exhaust system to duals when I restored the car.  The mufflers are still too loud and not to my liking for this car.  Can anyone recommend a muffler that will make the car sound as it did from the factory?

General Tech / '65 Chrysler Won't Start
« on: September 15, 2010, 07:11:28 PM »
I was driving along, enjoying a nice ride in my '65 300 'vert when it died all of a sudden and wouldn't start.  I thought it was the coil but I replaced it and it still won't start.  It's getting fuel so I know it has to do something with spark.  Any clues what it could be?  The FSM says faulty coil or condensor.  Would a faulty condensor cause the motor to quit?

General Tech / The Chrysler's First Show
« on: September 11, 2010, 07:52:21 PM »
I took my '65 Chrysler 300 'vert to its first show/cruise night where they handed out awards.  It's a local monthly Cruise Night that brings about 100-150 cars.  I am proud to say she took home Best of Show!  I was shocked I got anything let alone the top prize.  Who said C Bodies don't get any respect?

Tech- - ELECTRICAL / Heater/AC Blower Motor Issue - '65 Chrysler
« on: September 04, 2010, 09:20:08 AM »
The blower motor in my '65 Chrysler is making a whining noise. Usually, if I put it to High then back down to Low it stops. Recently, I've had to do this several times for the noise to stop. Does anybody have a clue what it is or how to fix it?
