Tech- - DRIVE TRAIN / 3 on the tree 1956

Ok guys here is the scoop. I took my 1956 Plymouth Savoy to a "Restoration Shop" and now the body work is done  and looks good. The so called mechanic that was working on it had NO IDEA on how to work on a flat head 6 with a manual 3 on the tree. I was informed that the trans would not shift into reverse and I told him to stop and I will get it fixed by a trans shop. Now that I have the car home I looked at it and the idiot did not even put all the linkage back on the car. I have not found the linkage in the pile of parts yet but was wondering if there is a place I can find a diagram of how this is all supposed to go back together IF I do find the parts. I left the car original to make it easy on them and they can not even get it put back together correctly. Any help would be appreciated. If anyone has a complete linkage they would want to part with I might be interested in purchasing that to get my car on the road.

General Mopar Discussions / 56 Savoy and 56 Belvedere
« on: September 07, 2009, 05:23:12 PM »
I am starting restoration of my Moms 56 Plymouth Savoy 2 door. The floorpans all need replaced along with rockers and trucnk pan, not to mention other items. Here is my question though. I have found a 1956 Plymouth Belvedere 2 door tthat has teh body work done allready except for some small items. Is this body teh same as mine? other than some options. Now I know that my savoy only has a straight 6 with a 3 on the tree, the belvedere has teh V8 with an automatic. Is this going to cause me troubles later? Thanks in advance.
