Title: Remember this mess?
Post by: azblackhemi on March 27, 2008, 11:33:18 AM
A little over a year ago I posted a thread on the other site about all the modifications the old man I bought the 65 Ny'er wagon from did. He spent 40 years (he bought it new in 65) hacking into the wiring harnesses adding lights, gauges, speakers, trailer wiring, block heater and some stuff I couldn't identify. Well here's a picture of what came out of just under the dash. The other picture is more like what should be under there. Big difference. The good harness same out of a 66 NY'er I parted last year. I don't think I'll use it though, I'm gonna pull the harness out of the 65 NY'er parts car I have because it also has cruise so I won't have to modify the harness. I'm just not looking forward to spending 2 hours under the dash again like this morning.   azblackhemi2008-03-27 15:50:28

Use a smaller camera. (http://www.moparfins.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif)

You could reduce the res in the camera. . 640 X 480 is a shoe in and in most cases fine

All that was under the dash. If you're asking about the square boxey looking thing it's an ancient hydralic trailer brake controler.

Is it a sign that I've been under the dash too much if I can identify where most of that wiring goes?

Yes it's a sign. If you can identify the stuff that didn't belong under there than that's a BAD sign.

and if nobody calls for it in 30 days its yours to keep.

the scary part is given enough time, I probably could trace a lot of the added mess.

Anyone who can trace that mess from a photo would be helpful to NASA, in case we have another Apollo 13.......

I got the dash out of the parts car today so tommorrow's project will be installing the dash harness in the wagon. I hope it will be done in a day but I don't know how long I'll be able to lay under the dash.

Normaly I would but in this case I can't lift it out in my condition and won't have any help on a week day. I wish I could pull the whole dash out like I did in the parts car but I'm not gonna take a chance pulling out the windshield without breaking it. I'll just have to be a contosoinist and take frequent breaks.
