Title: new to forum and just bought my first c body
Post by: shawn payne on February 19, 2008, 04:15:03 PM
hello all my name is shawn and i recently bought my first c-body, ive had loads of mopars from a mid 10 sec 360 w-2 headed duster, original 440 4spd challenger, 2 68 charger r/t's ect, but i have to say ive had more comments with this car then any of the others. and the kids and the wife love cruising in the florida weather with the top down ( my first convert). my 68 fury is a run of the mill 318 car, a/c p/c p/w but manuel brakes. i have a mild 360/904/3.55 suregrip im gonna put in it and a NOS kit just to surprise the guys at the strip. i plan on changing it over to disc brakes, i have two complete disc setups, one from a 73 fury and a set from 74 new yorker. which is better to use? the guy i got this car says itrs pretty rare, anyone know if its true? i see 67 fury converts all over but rarely a 68.

Where abouts are you in Florida?  I have a car down there being restored.  A 62 300H.  I've owned it for 4 years and never sat in it.  I have it's mate in Oregon.  The rest are here.  Me?  I've owned nothing but Big ones.  Well I did have a Cuda when it was less than 2 years old. . . Only car I ever owned that could out run Motorola

Oh I missed the disc part.

As I recall, both the 73 and the 74 will work.  The 74, if memory serves me correct, uses a different caliper.  But I am pretty sure the spindles and Rotors are the same.

Hey Shawn.  I just woke up from my coma and tripped across this thread.
I'm in Sebring, about 45 min away.
C'mon down Thursday nights to Checkers in Avon Park and meet up with some other
Mopar men.
Hope to see ya there.

Well somebody's gotta correct Adolph!

The 73 discs are what you want, the 74's are a completely different design & won't even come close to fitting.

I was just in Clearwater......& Lauderdale & Panama city.
