When did the 65 300 turn in to a rust bucket?

Just a joke
It didn't.  It's bery close to how it was when I got it other than having a turning motor and some decent seats

Oh OK. Didn't think it could get that bad that quick even in Rust Joisey.

It really pays to "import" a car from AZ...

I'm sorry to say, I broke down today.  RF wheel bearing practically exploded.  My buddy came to my rescue.  Loaded it on my trailer
That's me crying.  LOL

That doesn't happen very often, but I did have a 67 Ford truck 3/4 ton beefed up to ton and a half lose a wheel on the back from 8 loose lugnuts (and 3800 lbs of floor tiles in the back).

Yeah, that's why you put grease in them on occasion. You have my blessings in its repair.

Damn Steve there's parts of the Titanic with less rust than that! Been awhile since that bearing saw any grease.

It's a sealed bearing.  There's no rust inside.  who knows.  It's the original.

Whoa!! - never saw a bearing that dry and crusty either! Nor one that pricey!!  I think I'd do both sides, considering.

Sorry we couldn't get the car up there, but better luck next time... I'm almost always around now that Vermont is off the agenda until next  March. We're going to a party tonight with a bunch of the wife's Whitney Point/Lisle co-workers, and will ask around about bush-hog-ing.

Sorry - I didn't check in here in a timely fashion... I spent the day schlepping old Ford tin from one storage building to another... I swear my 87 yr old Uncle has more energy than I do, and enough parts to build 10 more Model As and a couple of Model Ts.

Ya it's been a bit wet the last few... wouldn't it be better to put them more out of view, up behind, or by, the RV?  Or is it impossible to get them up there now... maybe when it's frozen...which will be  soon enough.

Chris, a guy we know in Whitney, also has a camp around Lisle, he's checking out bush hoggers.

The original intention was to put them up on the top.  But I couldn't even get close enough to catch the extension on anything.  It's too heavy to haul the whole load up the hill with the winch without doubling the cable, otherwise I would pull it all up.  That would be close to 20K # loaded

My take is "out of sight, out of mind" ...so close to the road and too many kids with BBs, .177s or .22s around for that kind of temptation.
