Title: Going toJoisey
Post by: Leaburn Patey on June 11, 2012, 06:18:08 PM
It's that time once again for my pilgrimage to New Jersey.
Leaving Canuckville this Friday in the Waygun.
Taking I-81 South,go through NY State,Pennsylvania and and join up to I-80 to see..
The Grand Poobah, the bloss man the one and only Polaraco.
I will be returning on the following Monday making it a four day weekend.
I have to stop in Syracude to Sandy's Bumper Mart,so if anybody wants some rechroming done PM me and I can drop it off for you.
Like last year, the more the merrier, the bigger the discount, the better the price.
Also if you jaust wanna hook up for a cup of java I can take a break from the road.
I know some members missed me the last time i went through,so now here's another chance.
Cheers.

Have a safe and uneventful trip Leaburn. I'm trying to figure a way to come back to NY this summer to visit my family but with my workload I'm not sure I can make it happen. Was hoping to do it at the begining of July and hit Carlisle but that's comming too soon. Anyway drink a beer for me while you're there.

I would rather tip a bear with you than tip one without.  Besides.  I owe you for all your help.

I'll be gone to the Lake from Friday AM to Monday night, otherwise we'd
love to have you stop by for a break... you haven't seen the '58
Windsor yet, and the '70 is now on the road and ready for top down
fun... been driving it a lot this Spring!  Have a good trip! And
say Hi to the Joisey gang!

Well I made here in N.J.
The Waygun ran great until I hit Binghampton.
I was climbing the hill when she quit.
I pulled over and had no spark.
Swapped the ballast resister..no spark.
OK
Swapped the coil..no spark.
But I had two good things going for me.
I called my motor league then called Firedome.
Roger was at home and got my car towed to his house for a safer place to do further diagnostic.
Josh and Rogrer drove me to an auto parts store and bought an ECU and she fired up.
But the ecu did not solve the problem completely.
With the radical recurve inside the distributor, she was misfiring all over the place.
So,with the help of Josh and Roger we called around and then they drove me to an autoparts store to get a reman stock dizzy.
Jammed it in,timed by ear and off I went.

Many thanks to Josh and Roger for helping me out.
If they were not home I would have been screwed.
The timing was off too low but she got here.
Using Steve's timing light,I set it and drove it.
Too much ping.Plus she was braeking up.
After going to the cruise night
we pulled the plugs and they were badly fouled up.
Cleaned them up,reset the timing and now she is good to make it back home----I hope.

Well seven hours on the road that included a couple stops, the return trip was smooth AND no breakdowns.
It was good to see everybody once again and I had a blast checking out the cruise nights Steve took me to.

I wish I had more time when I was there.
Steve is so close to finishing the Blue Diamond, but appears to be overwhelmed at the same time given his recent health adventures..
I am always eager to work and  he could not keep up to my pace.
More like I could not slow down to HIS pace,LOL!!

If anybody can stop in to visit or lend a hand--do so before the sands of time run out..

Glad your visit was a success!
We left Friday at 4:30 PM after Lea left and got back home late Mon night.
Love to get down there sometime, my schedule is insane between April and October, we're gone most w/e's,  plus a whole week in early July and one in and late August.

Know what you mean about overwhelmed, I look at my cottage, 3 car and 3 boat projects and just wonder how I'm gonna get them all done. I just don't have the energy I did, and not enough $ to hire out the work...but somehow, someway I must...part of it is going to have to be getting rid of some of them I think...  hang in there Steve!
