Alternator Brackets

Ok, I'll try to get a head start on pulling stuff but right now I've got work comming out my you know what  so I'm not sure how far I'll get but with my lift and air tools we should be able to dismantle it pretty quick when you get here. I'll be picking it up next Thursday. Looking forward to meeting Ed while I'm there.

Hey Steve, when are you going to be at Chris's house? It may be easier for me to come out and help there, daughter just bought a house out there and turning wrenches is a great way to get a little exercise. I guess Chris is close to my daughter's place. Just a thought, plan changes are easy, especially if this is actually a weekend date. And just to reiterate, it is closer and no, I am not trying to get out of church.

Dang Steve, If the list gets any longer you might as well have your mail forwarded to my house since you're gonna be here a long time pulling parts, LOL. Anyway all kidding aside I will pm Ed tomorrow to get the adress and will be leaving here Thursday morning around 5 am. that should get me to San Diego before noon. Maybe I'll have time to take a quick nap on the beach and then head back to the desert and be home for dinner.

I'm dying to hear about this parts car.  I just got a few tid bits from Ed so far

Looks like I am going to need a right front fender and the front lower valance too.  The fender is popped in such a way it just will not go back on right.  The car had some damage on the grill frame area and it pulled it back with the valance.  The spot welds on the valance are pulled out.  It's just not coming back together.

Soooooo

We better add a Right front fender and lower valance, Complete grill, I need the fasteners for the entire grill too.  I definitwly want that emblem!

OK Chris

The stuff left behind includes the glass and those two strips on the rear 1/4's.  I can't think of anythign else except maybe the arm rests on the door panels.  I think I will need 1, or we will make new ones.  I have to look at them yet

Still pondering the glass.  The only problem is I and getting close to needing the 2 fronts and she shield.  That dark glass looks real cool.  Kinda like the heavy tinting they do today.

Meanwhile, the current load is still where you left it.

Oh BTW Roger, we had your bumpers loaded already.  Chris and Ed pulled them off.  They were on the bottom.  They were excellent cores for the chromer in Syracuse though. . . .

Problem is I already had 2 excellent cores for the chromer in Syracuse
with no dents whatsoever, just weak chrome on the top on each side
under the trunk & hood drain channels where they always do...
that's why in my very first inquiry I asked if they had any
dents/dings, later Chris called and said they DO have some
dents/dings.... after they'd been pulled.  Dent free used bumpers
with typical nice AZ chrome would have been a worthwhile, but I'm not
so loaded  I can spend $$$ for parts no better than them what I
have already!

What I really need to fix the body is the lower rear 1/4, which was
what I first inquired about.  Sorry for the extra work
loading/unloading, however... you had enough to do already ... we're
all going to chip in for a good pair of polarized sunglasses
;-)

Sunglasses would help, sure, but what he really needed was an automatic windshield washer! I left about 90 minutes before Steve and while heading West to San Diego ran into a little bit of a bug storm, decided to turn on the wipers to get a better view (about 6pm now), and I got so smeared up and couldn't see that I had to gently leave the highway, pull into a 7-11, scrub the bugs off (and bug guts now smeared all over the place) and get a giant Slurpie to finish the trip. I know exactly what Steve saw, or didn't see!

Wow, I ran into a dust storm once in Dalhart TX, but never been in a bug storm!

You guys have to see the dark glass in the 62 at Chris's house.  It's like having old fashioned tinted windows.  When I get home, I'll post the pics of the difference in the glass

In hindsight, it was probably a good thing you decided not to pull and pack it in the back (even though I would have insisted on doing some major cardboard packing on that baby), probably would have been a waste of time pulling it if it broke.

I didn't think they had dark glass, beyond the standard type tint that is, way back then?
