Post by: Steve on January 23, 2011, 05:34:27 PM
I didn't take this motor apart so I don't remember where the heat shields went.

Where do the heat sheilds go on the right and left on a Big Block?  I forget

Never mind. . .  II braved the 10 degree weather and 3 feet of snow to get into the storage.  The intake is frozen to the ground.  Pry bar failed to move it.  Ugh

They go in the back two holes on both sides.

I know her.  She's a fine girl.  What a good wife she'd be.

Go out with a bucket of hot water and pour it into the intake.  Wait a minute and pull it free.

I have always hated those heat shields.  Pain in the A$$ to get the plugs out.  The c=socket never quite clears the shields.  I put on some of those header spark plug socks on the wagon.  Have worked great so far.  But then I'm not totally concerned about originality.
