Title: 68 GTX turn signal
Post by: steve fogel on December 28, 2010, 03:23:07 PM
The turn signal lever moves loosely with no clicks and the right turn signal is stuck on......is that a turn signal cancel cam that needs replaced?    Sounds like a job for Snotty the Shrimp Eater.   Snotty could be getting lots of gift certificates for the all you can eat Chinese buffet real soon.

Cancel cams are cheap and available.
Turn signal switches depending on what type are available in repop, and NOS.
Pulling the steering wheel will give you the answer you need.

Might be just the cam, but I'd replace the whole darn thing.  If the turn signal is stuck on then you might have other issues.

You will know the condition after the steering wheel is removed, some rare times it is simply a loose screw for the turn signal itself, but I doubt that given you say the turn signal for the right direction remains on all the time, the cam canceller would make it go off in a turn if that were the case. As said, aftermarket may have them, but a touch of caution on that, not sure exactly what else may use them, for example, a Charger of the era will not swap with a Coronet, it is a Charger only part (hope yours is used elsewhere).

Duh on me. . . I just noticed the title.  I think a whole switch is reproduced for them.  I know I have seen them advertised, but don't remember where at the moment POLARACO2010-12-29 01:38:37

Snotty says he has one but he went up to Sacramental today.   We'll have a look when he gets back.   At least there's still beef in the beef and broccoli at the Chinese buffet for now.

All the buffets in your area probably called ahead and warned Sacramento
