looking to swap a big block into a small block truck. what do i do about the cross over piece under the oil pan that attaches the frame together?? its a 2wd truck with independent front suspension.(http://www.moparfins.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif) moparmanof852010-11-19 20:38:27

Nothing..
LA and B/RB trucks used the same frame.
Just swap out the passenger oil pan for a truck oil pan and rear oil sump/pickup.
You will also need either truck log manifolds,or truck headers,and the obvious big block motor mounts or get the Schumacher conversion mounts in a kit.
BTW,truck oil dipsticks go through the oil pan to the rear of  the oil pan--different than the passenger blocks.

In 1984 Dodge changed the frames. Anything older than 1984 is a true bolt in for a big block using BB mounts. After that you would need to make something for it to work when it comes to mounts.
