Hmmmm.... thats a while ago I filmed that at my garage.... I think November 2007, when the SF had just landed in Europe. Its my smallest Mopar so far... and I miss that Imperial.... luckily its ingood hands in Hungary.

Somehow, I cant get myself to seriously work on the SF to get it road-legal at last, and I made a deal with myself to not buy another Mopar before the SF is done/gone...

After driving my Imperial for about 700 miles, I now remember what it's like to strike fear into the hearts of all others on the road!

and pedestrians too! (http://www.moparfins.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif)

[/QUOTE] (http://www.moparfins.com/forum/smileys/smiley10.gif)Indeed, the 73 Imp is the most sinister looking post-war car I can think of, especially if its in a dark color.

Visually the SF looks smaller because of the short coupe green house and the vertical Imp tail-light design that makes it look much wider, but in reality the Imp isn't all that much bigger, comparing 4 drs.  Had a 69 Imp 4 dr and several 71-73  Fury 4 drs. and the insides were virtually identical in seating room.  Both cars are 80" wide, and LOA for 73 FUry was 223.4" and 229.7" for Imp, a paltry 6". The 71 Fury was LOA 216" only because of the lack of federally mandated 5 mph safety bumpers for all cars that went into effect in 1973.

The wheelbase of a fury is quite a bit shorter as well, and the car is really featherweight. They are very very different beasts.

Small detail: 73 Imp is not 229.7 (again because of the bumper-legislation)

The feel is much closer with a 440 under a SF hood and loaded with all
the options that the Imp has standard.  A 318 Fury feels very
different than a loaded SF BB, I guess is what I'm saying, much more
lively, as far as handling goes, at least in the ones I've owned.

The different front-frame also makes a big difference in ride-quality. Besides the goodies, there's also a big difference in amount of sound deadening, and e.g. the imperial hood is much much heavier. My SF has the 383 and AC, but its still about 600kg (approx 1350lbs) lighter than the Imperial. This, combined with the shorter wheelbase, makes it much happier with cornering, but doesnt give the "king of the road"-feel of the Imp.

Cant tell about the high-speed stability of the SF, but I know that my old newpie was much less stable at 120mph than the Imp.

want to agree with Sjak (as always :D ) and say more, I never drove any full size before except the imp so cannot compare the driving differences , but the differences are so obvious when I though they are all the same..
The whole sub-frame, C member are different, no single suspension part or brake is interchangeable with Chrysler or Plymouth and all are bigger, some parts do not even exist on Chrysler or Plymouth, all are connected through bushings and no rubber pads..etc....
