Title: A sorta, kinda, semi- epic topic.
Post by: Stan Paralikis on September 14, 2010, 04:08:53 AM
Last week, I had a bad day on the phone with a NOS supplier and I posted a rant over on Moparts.  Probably Moparts and not here because you guys hear from me too much already (I like to spread the misery).

I feel your pain Stan. Kind of the reason why I don't do the concours restoration stuff myself, too big a chance of getting ulsers, I have lost enough sleep over this stupid garage myself, and besides, I just paid $400 for a guy to come out for ten minutes (9 minutes of that was me telling him the story of why the test was needed) just to say the foundation was dug deep enough on one corner where the ground was filled/leveled from dirt 15feet away from the other side and soil compression tests (his partner did) that maintained the compactness at less than one percent difference between the cut and fill soil. Talk about amazing.

Before I read it I knew exactly what you were talking about.

Frankly, I think you ought to make a decision.

Why not have one of us give him a call.  Not me though.  He hates me.  I did what you did to him

WE all know well who it was, disclaimer notwithstanding ;-)

So I'm looking for the little white rectangular plastic window
regulator sliders that fit on the 2 balls that attach to the bottom of
the window glass for my F3, he has  this 50 cent part for
something like $35, probably because it fits B and E bodies too,
unfortunately, so I'm looking for other more fair NOS dealers - can any
one share that info here?

In this case, it wasn't him.  It's Silke's here in Florida holding it hostage. He's gonna take it to HIS grave.....

Did you read it to it's conclusion???
No decision needed now.
Nothing more needs to be done.
Mission accomplished.

It's not ADD you idiot.  Some of us aren't sitting around on our arse with nothing else to do.  I read enought to where somebody was saying he raised to price to people he didn't like.  I assumed that was him which to me, gave him a guilty concious

Now let me get back to work

Yeah I had the displeasure of calling Silke's once, those idiots.

Getting parts for my Nova is so much easier/cheaper. Still prefer Mopar tho.

Can anyone recommend a source that might have window regulator
parts?  Damn plastic things wear out and the windows won't work
without them.  I've fixed the wiring and switches, but am now
stymied over what should be a 50 cent part... and I can't find the part
# on the factory parts manual CD I have...

Stan you are like me.  Defending a point.  They sure got off track though.

I skipped a couple of pages.  What was the happy ending to that?  I don't have all week to read between their diaper changes (http://www.moparfins.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif)

In addition to the NOS door seals I'm hoarding, the only remaining rubber I need to look for is the trunk seal and I'm not worried about that.

Could be worse, I looked for door window beltline seals last yr for the
St Regis...NONE to be had at ANY price!  I think the cop car clone
guys had gotten the limited stock that had been left.

Good find Glen!  They look slightly different, but may be an
improved version, as the shape looks the same overall... I'll try a
couple to see if they work.  Thanks for the detective work!!

The 5th Avenue uses something like that too.

Chrysler has been known to use pre-vintage engineering.  You never know.  You know, you could look in the back doors for this part.

It is for the F3 back door that I need and that the broken one came out of...  the problem is the parts book part # Dan had was for a 2 dr, notthe rear door of a 4 dr.
I ordered 2 of the eBay ones and will keep fingers crossed, otherwise it's off to the yard.
