Title: checking plug wires

When you check your plug wires using a OHM meter do you just look for the highest reading to show which wire is bad?

I have no idea

A longer wire will have a higher resistance. Usually though, its not the resistance that gives problems, but leaking insulation, and this can lead to hard starting and power loss.

A good way to check if the wires are still good: run the engine, open hood, and spray some water. If it's an interesting lightshow => replace wires.
