Title: Top Boot Installed!
Post by: Scott on June 03, 2010, 05:28:15 PM
I installed the top boot today. I was a little apprehensive becasue I had to install each snap fastener one at a time. I was going to have a shop do it but I decided to do it myself. I think it came out pretty good.

Peter, I'd be happy to help you in any way I can with your restoration.  Having taken this car completely apart, aside from your 4 speed setup, I know every nut, both, fastener, etc.  Feel free to PM me any questions you may have.

I have to check, but I believe you can get reproduction inserts for the wheel covers.

Check the main site and write George for them

That is Drop Dead GORGEOUS!!! (http://www.moparfins.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif) (http://www.moparfins.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif)

I see you did an upgrade on the brakes.  What did you do?  Stay with the drums or convert to disc?

I ask because I am just starting on big red
(http://www.moparfins.com/forum/attachments/5/653005.jpg)

There's no rust, some bits and pieces missing, no drive shaft (Hint Hint Azblack).  I took my first look at the brakes 2 nights ago. . .

Thanks for the compliments!

Sweet car you've got there!  Looks like mine when I started!  Is your grill medallion intact?  More pics please!

I upgraded to the dual master and left the drums.  Inline Tube makes the junction to convert to a dual master.  The rear shoes are 3" and I believe the fronts are too.  I got them from Auto Zone.  Other than the driveshaft, what parts are you missing?  I might be able to help out.  Also, if you are interested, I have new plastic inserts for the quarter emblems and sell them you bare, painted or you can send me your emblems and I can disassemble them, rechrome and reassemble with new inserts.  I've done this for a couple people.  Here's one I did for someone:

I probably have a drive shaft here.  Ijust have to get the time to see if it fits.  Been super busy across the board.

I think the grill piece is in tact.  If not, I know I bought one that was.  I have another that is cracked but all there too..  I haven't gotten that far yet. . . .  All I've done so far is pull the stuck 383 and dropped in a fresh 413
