Inside you glove box, that's where they are in '62 Chryslers.  Look there.  I am curious about your having an "Amp light."  I am under the imnpression your car would have an amp guage.  Do you mean your E Brake light?

Hi Teddy

WELCOME

Give it some time. . . I'm not the DeSoto Guru, but I do recall something about the fuse box being in the glove box as Snotty said.  At least he's good for something (It's an inside Joke between Snotty and I)  There's a couple of DeSoto experts here that will chime in soon.  If not, PM "Firedome"

Sounds like you have a short somewhere though.  Where di you run the jumper too?

I would remove the switch and inspect the wiring.  I would also inspect the bulk head connector

Fuseable link maybe? The '60 and later cars are very different than the
'57-59s... mine wa a '58. I think the glove box is where they put the
fuses on those 60/61 DeSi's ala Chrylser...

All the fuses on the 1960 Desoto are inline. There is no fusebox. The fuses are hidden at various places under the dash. Some are harder to find than others.

yes... I just hope its easy to fix the generator because there is not much parts to De Soto here in sweden.. I don't know if a new car generator works to put in, I have 2 scrap cars with good generators both are Saab 900i one is from 1985 and anather from 1988..

There should be plenty of Mopar fans in Sweden,Holland, etc. They may have a spare Chrysler alternator and mounting brackets somewhere.
Or even order a new/remanufactured alternator for a 72 Dodge Charger--for example.
Chrysler went with the alternator starting in 1960 in the Valiant, then a year later in all models.
Easy to install and wire up with added reliability.

There are tons of fin Mopar owners in Sweden... just go to
www.forwardlook.net to find them, they have a Forum for Swedish folks
there... I know Sven Andersson can help you out, he has a 60
Chrysler.
