Title: A suggestion for when locking threads
Post by: Snotty on March 22, 2010, 01:04:20 PM
I was viewing the "Welcome Rockwerkz" thread and wanted to make a comment about slant 6s when I discoved that it was locked.  What I don't know is why?

I would appreciate it in the future if an explanation as to why a thread was locked.  Unless the deal was the 3 commets from that one dope, I can't see why that thread was locked.  I'd rather you delete the offender and his/her comments than to lock an entier thread.

Wasn't me...

It was me.

I had my reasons, but I prefer not to say anything.  That's why there was no explaination.

Sorry Scott. . It is difficult being at the top at times.  It is my job.  Please understand and I apologize. . .

I am not sure why some people have to act like such children and ruin things for other people. They obviously never learned manners...this was my WELCOME to the forum thread and the twit azz calls one of my projects garbage? Pretty low blow IMO. It is a poor excuse of a man to put down another man's hobby. I have noticed over the years that weak minded people mock what they do not understand. I may start another thread on the subject.

Now that I've talked with Steve I know what was up.

The comments may have been serious, and they may have been in jest.  Either way, don't let them bother you.

My son and I are building a Gremlin - do you have any idea how many jokes we've received concerning that?  Then, there are the people who have told us all AMCs are junk and we're wasting our money.

The jokes are going to come, and the latter comments can't be helped.  Either way, they're just opinions.

Don't let them bother you.

But, to support your cause, I've owned a /6 and a 3.9 V6.  I'd take the former anyday!

That's what I wanted to say on that thread.

We've been a tight family on here, throwin harmless barbs at each other for a few years now...nothing compared to the Forward Look or Moparts

....sounds like someone needs to grow a thicker skin

I've noticed folks seem to be more thin-skinned
these days, for whatever reason. Same thing in politics. I guess it's
the stressfull times we live in. But we all need to lighten up.
We'll all be dead in a few years, and everything we own will turn to
dust, as will we. Enjoy!  Be nice to your fellow man, or fellow
Mopar-nut, as the case may be.

Cool. I was just a little bit ticked at the time but now I realize after reading more posts here that you were trying to be funny. No problem. I do not come here to argue or cause trouble...just to share and learn.

Speaking of AMCs... they were great, though I've rarely met a car I didn't like or at least appreciate!

I'd really love a 50s Nash, a 63-64 Rambler, and a Javelin!! Gremlins are way cool.

Agreed!  My Dad had a '63 660 Classic he bought for 50 bucks in the early '70s.  It had the V8, auto, and AC.  He drove it for 8 years and sold it when the rods started knocking.  I still like those to this day.

Would LOVE to have a Javelin, second generation with 8 and 4 speed.  I'd take any of the 8s!

I liked the Grems form the first day I saw one in 1970.  It's a weirdo thing.

IMO the 63/4 Rambler was one of the best all-around practical family
cars ever made, just the right size for a family of 4 or 5, great
economical 6 cyl engines, or 327 V8 if you need it, really clean
styling... I'd love one for a daily driver, I like it even better than
my 70 Nova.

I'd agree.  Our 660 had the smaller 8 but it was a nice running motor and very reliable car.
