Title: Mopar U Joint Help Need a odd config
Post by: Steve on March 07, 2010, 07:39:32 PM
I remember years ago you could get a U Joint that would mate a Big Chrysler joint to a small Chrysler joint.  Does anyone know if they are still made and where to get them?

I want to go from a 2 1/8 shaft to a 2 5/8 slip yoke.

I have a long yoke from a 4 speed that looks right in the correct size, but I have to pull my shaft out again to see.  It it works, than all this is moot.  But it is good information to have around.

Anybody know what the spline count is on the old 4 speeds?  1967

Last one I got, a few years ago now, I went down to my local parts jobber and they had one in stock.  So I would think Napa or someone locally should be able to get you one.

They're called 'conversion u-joints'. About any driveline or 4x4 shop should be able to find the right one for you.

I bought mine at my local dealer.
I may have it here somewhere..Not sure if I still have it buried among the mess.

I agree.  Thats what we did when we put an A Body shaft in the Gremlin.  We needed an AMC front joint and a Mopar rear.  They guy presented several to choose from, including some that were of two different dimensions on the same joint.  Shouldn't be a problem Stevo.
