Title: Exhaust Manifold options
Post by: Rob Molloy on February 22, 2010, 10:53:35 AM
Hello all. I just had a quick question to ask some people who would know. Do I have to use the stock exhaut manifolds on the RB 383 out of my '59 Saratoga, or are there some different aftermarket perfomance options? I'm trying to look at different options for when I have my exhaust made.

Thanks!

You can use the 383 manifolds on the RB's.

Cool. I'll start looking into stuff. My main concern is, if I go for something like a Hooker header, will I need to do any modification inside the engine bay (ie. the firewall or steering column) This is what I am looking at right now: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HOK-5903HKR/ (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HOK-5903HKR/)

Thanks for the tips!

You're going to be hard pressed anyway.  The 59 has allot of room on the right, but headers are a real headache on the left.  Start with a mini starter.  Solves one problem.  Make a heat shield.

You're better off ordering the factory duals.  That's what I ended up doing
