Title: Steering Column Gasket
Post by: Andy on February 22, 2010, 09:26:22 AM
Is there somewhere I can get a new gasket for the base of the steering column, where it goes through the firewall, for my 64 300? I noticed I could see daylight through it the other day while I was under the dash trying to, desperately, figure out some of the wiring!

Is it just a one piece part that attaches from the inside or is there another piece that goes into the engine compartment?

I'm just so darned confused! I feel like I'm trying to put a 10,000 piece jigsaw puzzle back together, without a picture! (http://www.moparfins.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif) (http://www.moparfins.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif) (http://www.moparfins.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif)

Are you talking about the one that goes behind the plate or the one around the column?

I got one from Andy Burnbaum. Gary Goers also has them.

If there are 2 of them I'm sure both need to be replaced. The one I was looking at, while under the dash, was the one around the column where it goes through the fire wall and out to the engine comppartment.

I always forget about Goers! He's got lots of rubber stuff for the 64. Thanks for reminding me. (http://www.moparfins.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif)
