Well his profile says Antarctica so thats why I said frozen north.
Just like a Hollander to mess up where he lives!!! (I can say that because I am one!!) (http://www.moparfins.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif)(http://www.moparfins.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif)(http://www.moparfins.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif)

Thanks guys! A mopargirl made a nice applecake for me, and I drank the beer a German Moparbabe bought me.

Its not snowing here, although its been freezing slightly at night, earlier this week. Good way to test the heated seats of the daily beater!

And I bought myself a 383 block for 75 bucks as a bday gift. See what I can do with it, combined with the parts i already have: set of 915 heads, 383 Holley Street Dominator intake, original seventies/eighties Direct Connection valve covers. Thinking of a 496 with propane MPI, but my wallet still has to agree LOL

Well it doesnt look spectacular, the block is really just a bare block, not crank etc. And it's still at a friend's place.

The heads (the orignal closed chamber 915 heads) and valve-covers:

Now that's my kind of birthday present!

So you can use MegaSquirt with propane?!!  Wow, didn't know that,
tell me more, I've been planning to convert my '58 FireSweep to propane!

Roger, I am going to a small training at a company doing those conversion on Saturday 31st of October.

Basically, they use off-the-shelf parts combined with a MS-module and a customized script for the injection field.

For mixer/regulator types of conversions, I have a lot of experience and know some great US&Canada-based parts resources for you. Another important thing to look at when doing a propane-conversion is the ignition, since the propane is harde to ignite than gasoline, it needs a better maintained ignition, and really likes a sharper curve and some aftermarket goodies to get a stronger spark.

On the Imperial, I ran a full MSD setup: Probillet dizzy, MSD 6AL module, Blaster SS, MSD timing control. Expensive but really delivered the goods.

This project is more budget-minded, so the ignition will consist of a custom curved MP dizzy
combined with a Crane 6 module and MSD Blaster SS coil. Not sure about
the plug wires yet.

Very interesting... propane conversions have been available here for a
long time, I test drove  a '66 Olds Toronado 455 V8 around 1980
that had been  conveted, you'd never know it, ran perfect.
My tow guy has a propane conversion kit off of a Pontiac V8 I'm going
to buy.  I know about Megasquirt because my son is putting it on a
MGB, with turbo and aluminum crossflow heads. Sounds like you can be a
good source of knowledge for this!  I take it in Holland, are you
required to do it to all older cars to reduce pollution emissions?

Emission on old cars is not really an issue over here, as the cars only have to match the requiremetns from the build year.

The main reason to use propane over here is fuel price. A gallon of 95 costs some $7.60 or so, where LPG costs only around $2.80.

This is for the Fury?

I dont have a specific car in mind for the new engine, maybe it'll go into the Fury, maybe in a not yet purchased future car. It will be a slow project, first will scavenge around for cheap parts to complete it.
