Yes they will fit.  However you have to check on the oiling.  The Magnum heads are lubed through the push rods, where the LA is lubed in the head and rocker shaft.  Your motor has a roller cam already.  That one uses a solid push rod.  That might complicate things.

I am going to have to ask my magnum expert when he sobers up (http://www.moparfins.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif) (http://www.moparfins.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif)  But I am sure it can be done.

Gee that's too bad.  I have a fresh set of 318 closed chamber heads that were just redone I need to get rid of.

What are you plans for the car?

By the way. . . .

WELCOME!

Here's some info on an LA engine series to Magnum head upgrade! The 87' block will complicate things a bit,but it should be a great combo as i have built a 418" stroker out of a 340 block with Eddy Magnum heads, and i sure had to do my homework! http://www.dippy.org/forum2/index.php/topic,295.0.html (http://www.dippy.org/forum2/index.php/topic,295.0.html)  and still more! http://www.popularhotrodding.com/tech/0507phr_mopar_magnum_engine_specs/index.html (http://www.popularhotrodding.com/tech/0507phr_mopar_magnum_engine_specs/index.html) and  more http://www.hughesengines.com/TechArticles/103magnumlaheadshowtoadaptmagnumheadsto.php (http://www.hughesengines.com/TechArticles/103magnumlaheadshowtoadaptmagnumheadsto.php)
You will oil through the pushrods,so you won't have to block off the oil gallery passages like i had to cause the 87's were oil through pushrod type i do believe!

Thanks Glen! (http://www.moparfins.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif)

When I worked on this three years ago, I had to put it together with pieces from here and there.  But that was using a standard Hydraulic tappit.  The later Rollers  make sense.  Just choose the right cam.

However if you really want to get a good running engine, find yourself an older 318 or 360 and put the Crane roller kit in it, and Magnum heads.  Porting the heads will help a bit more too. POLARACO2009-04-06 23:36:12
